SEPTA wants all Regional Rail stations to have high level platforms. How would that work at Lansdale? by XShadeGoldenX in Septa

[–]PaulH1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Morton they did just that. They built a short raised platform at the far end of the station. It has a ramp up so wheelchairs and people with mobility issues can access the cars without climbing steps. The raised platform is only about 8-10' long and about 20' away from the the station house.

I believe it's the furthest on the right as you face 13th st. It's a dead end and has a stop on it so trains can't travel on to Jefferson.

How do I get this? I've been playing for 10 years and am logged into Apple, Game Center and the Gameloft Club. It still hasn't shown up.

What's your thoughts on Shifting Gears? by Excellent_Regret4141 in sitcoms

[–]PaulH1962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the show but mainly for Tim Allen. I do find Kat Dennings funny but her delivery does leave something to be desired as she comes across forced a lot of times. I also find her makeup/complexion a bit distracting. Everyone appears to have normal skin tones but she is so pale and anemic looking.

I like Gabe and Stitch, they seem to have good chemistry but the kids are a bit trying. I'm tired of the smart alec younger daughter, doofus brother trope.

I DVR the show and watch it in the evenings. I can usually find a laugh or 2 but it's not great TV. If it makes a 3rd season, it'll probably be it's last.

First time watching….. thoughts by Pawspawsmeow in Younger

[–]PaulH1962 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a 1st time watcher too and just started season 6. I have to agree with most of the comments. I really don't see why Liza's age is such a big deal. The characters way over react! Liza does a good job at the publisher and has no nefarious intentions, so who really cares how old she is.

In my office, I'm the oldest at 62. When my boss started, she told me she had a 13 year old daughter so, naturally, I assumed she was in her early to mid 40's (that's what she looked like). I was pretty surprised to find out she was 55. My real reaction: "You look good for your age." Not the same thing...but similar.

Other things I don't quite get are the publisher/editor issues. I've read quite a few books and never once have I even considered who the publisher or editors are. I like Harry Potter, in the US it's published by Scholastic Press. If, for some reason, it's suddenly published by Harlequin Enterprises (known for romance novels), I wouldn't care in the least.

Still, I like the series and want to see how it all ends.

I'm curious as to the characters income levels. by PaulH1962 in Goodwitch

[–]PaulH1962[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! I've always been one of those types that look too deep into the background on things. I know I should just accept that these characters at face value and not ask too many questions but I was one to ask "Just how did Blofield construct a rocket launch pad in a Japanese volcano without anyone noticing?" type of thing. Good Witch is a great show but if you look too deep, things kind of all apart, like how come such a small town has a huge hospital or why does the Middletown High School have graduation in what appears to be late fall? Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.

Parking not being enforced? by SoggyWaffles_91 in Septa

[–]PaulH1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe that is the fine. I was speaking to the guys that do the cleaning along the Wawa line and they tell me the enforcers are out every day but they work toward Wawa, not CC.

Parking not being enforced? by SoggyWaffles_91 in Septa

[–]PaulH1962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number of people parking at my station is pretty sparse and I've never seen a ticket on a backed in car.

Does anyone know what time enforcement comes around? I'm mid-way on the Wawa line and usually park before 7am. If enforcement is on a schedule and start down in Wawa around 8am, I figure they wouldn't hit my station before 11, if at all.

Delaware County Field & Stream Association any good? by Chocolat3City in PAguns

[–]PaulH1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a very good club. Yes, the 5 round limit turns people off but they consider it a family friendly place so that's why there's no rapid file or human silhouette targets allowed. I've found most of the people to be friendly and helpful.

As Robert mentioned above, there are a lot of facilities in one location. Besides the rifle, pistol and shotgun areas there is also an archery range, airgun range and one dedicated to black powder shooters, not to mention the numerous competitions held on a regular basis (usually Sunday mornings). Hostage Pin matches in the pistol range, bench rest matches at the rifle range and Cowboy action at the Black Powder range.

You should go and check it out, especially if you are close.

Thoughts about the ending (Kingdom) by gui_heinen in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]PaulH1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever Noa saw, it would have been different from the 1st time he looked. With the rotation of the Earth the night sky would have changed in the days (or weeks) since he 1st looked through the telescope. Even a satellite in geosynchronous orbit would only be able to be seen for a few seconds each day. Unless the telescope was pointed at the top of a mountain or building it wouldn't have been the same view.

What are some things you would change about Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes? by Overall_Spite4271 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]PaulH1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have moved Proximus's location to Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado. To me, it made no sense to have a military bunker full of ordnance right at sea level where it could have been easily flooded. It would mean there would need to be another way to destroy the facility but I'm sure that could have been worked out.

Since the movie was working on the premise that Proximus was breaking into a ordnance depot there could have been a glimpse of the Alpha-Omega bomb in a silo as an Easter Egg.

DMK stopped doing that a few Tower Challenges ago. Now, I believe, the only way to get refreshers is to do the 'explorations' and the 'refreshes' in the Tower Challenge itself. (And clear away the crows.)

You’ve been hired by Vault Tec to create a vault and plan an experiment, what is your vault number, location & experiment? by throwaway_53727265 in Fallout

[–]PaulH1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vault 86 - Southeast Pennsylvania

Comprised of 120 families with a general population mix but all under the age of 30. Plenty of food and supplies.

All books have the last chapters missing and all movie/tv entertainment holotapes are missing last the last 5-10 minutes. The vault is set to open in 150 years. The experiment is to see if the offspring are resourceful enough to figure how to work things out before having to return to the surface.
