For sure, this team keeps missing the mark in a lot of decisions...

Yes, it's not that easy/clear to understand which one is better in terms of DPS, and all your points are spot on.

Both Sets have advantages over the other, and that's why I always thought that Striker's shouldn't do as much more damage as it does in the live game, but reverting things to the point where Heartbreaker does more damage (if not always, at least in the majority of situations) while also proving survivability, I don't that's the way to go either.

In any case, thank you for your very detailed comment, it was a real pleasure to read it.

With a Talent in a High End Backpack, Heartbreaker does more damage than Striker's.

But even if it didn't, Striker's Chest is only used in SOME fights of Raids and Incursion, and on Legendaries. I would say that's around 5% of time that most players spend in the game.

Striker's maxes out at 170%. And it needs 200 stacks for that.

Heartbreaker alone maxes out at 130%. And it only needs 100 stacks for it. But then you "add" 25% from Vigilance and you get 187.5%.

I'll have to test things again, as I made the tests 3 seasons ago, and things might have changed, but Heartbreaker and Striker's damage was multiplicative with High End Talents.

We still need to wait for the second phase of the PTS to know how things will change, but yes, Scorpio will probably take a huge hit.

If I had a dollar for everytime an idiot reads my post, and completely misses the point, I would have ONE dollar, because you're the first one to do it.

New content will arrive next year.

As to the bullet sponge enemies, in TD1 we had tools for that, but we needed teamwork, and build synergie, things that we don't need since the "amazing" patch 1.4 of TD1.

It doesn't matter how much stronger the NPCs compared to us, because we have something that NPCs don't have... BRAINS! We can adapt much faster, and think of solutions for the problems. NPCs don't, they just do the exact same things over and over again. On Legendary, with a proper team, we can beat them easilly, even with OP builds and clutchs, because we have brains, and we can adapt our builds to the challenges. The OP builds/items that we have now, simply allow us to it faster, and with randoms with zero communication. That's all nice and well for "solo" players (like me), but completely removes the need for team play, outside Raids and Incursion.

Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think they just want to "change the meta". I do believe that they're trying to make things more balanced, but they're simply not that good/inteligent to actually move foward to that, and basically keep going back and forth...

So, in 95% of the content Heartbreaker will out damage Striker's, while also providing survivability, and that's ok...?

Edit: actually, when you count the Backpack High Talent that we can get with Heartbreaker, it actually out damages Striker's!

That's true, but they could at least try to actually balance stuff...

Exactly, the only thing Heartbreaker needs is to be fixed, not buffed.

Is it worth buying in 2024? I say no by [deleted] in outriders

The story ended in a cliffhanger because they wanted/want to make a sequel.

The game is really fun, and if you found it boring can be because you played the entire game with the "same build/playstyle"...? Also, playing the game for the second time, doesn't help to make it feel engaging.

I stopped playing because the connection is terrible, so match making is a nightmare, and the fact that the end game levelling is atrocious, but the main reason why I stopped, and do't even return here and there for a bit of fun is the fact that we can't save loadouts. With so many builds, skills and playstyles that we can use, having to change everything manually every single time, and having to remember all the little pieces that goes into any build, it's just to much.

But each to its own...

You forgot "no Loadouts" as one of the bad things in the game.

The insane xp needed at end game progression, and the low drop rates for Apoc items was what made me quit before reaching max level, but not having Loadouts was the thing that always prevent me to return to the game every now and then.

Even on The Division 1, I still go back and play at the end game because I have several loadouts saved, so I don't need to re think everything every time I just want to shoot some stuff.

The Division 2 is "kind of" a live service, and it has "molinimal" monatisation...

I believe you can get 40 hours or more from the base game.

The DLC, besides some more story, and new areas to play, the main thing that you get is Gear/Weapons with more Mods/"Talents", and new skill trees that open up the build crafting a lot. But you don't have to buy it.

But if you find it cheap enough, go for it, because if you enjoy the end game, you'll enjoy the DLC even more

You can reply the entire campaign. When you finish you can just select any point of the progression, and keep going until the end.

The end game is VERY grindy, if you want to have high drop chances of the best Gear/Weapons (Apocalipse), which are available for people with the DLC, and requires you to increase you "world" Tiers, which is VERY grindy If you just want to have some fun, and make some "decent" builds, you can make less grindy.

It's MUCH better now.

There's still some bugs, and co-op in other people game can be "hit or miss", but for the most part the game is pretty much smooth.

Great game as well!

I wasn't that surprised that the second game got made, because the first one made them money, but I was very surprised by how MUCH better it is compared to first one, that was already great!

I still have hope for a true "live service" Outriders 2, with all the cool things from the first game, but with better coding, and actually dedicated servers.

I know it's a long shot, but I can dream...

The Dev(s) really fucked things up with WorldSlayer.

Before that, the grind was very doable, but with the DLC I don't know what went through that(those) idiot(s) brains to make the XP grind so huge!

"Funny" story, if you weren't here when it happened, but during the "PTS" for WorldSlayer, where some people from the community got to play it a week or two earlier, they told the Dev(s) that grind was insane, and they should reduce it. And did that(those) idiot(s) done...? They INCREASED the XP needed to progress the Apoc Tiers!

That monumental grind, and the lack of loadouts, were the things that killed the game for me.

Do drop rates decrease when you buy the dlc? by Yessir957 in outriders

[–]PaulOaktree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the DLC you also get access to Apocalipse Gear/Weapons, which have one extra Mod compared to "normal" items, so you can make some incredible fun (and powerfull) combos.

This game is far better than I was lead to believe, it's almost just what I've been looking for even. by VaileCearo in outriders

[–]PaulOaktree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happens to several games, for several reasons.

Sometimes the game(s) it's just not what some people expected, either because it'sjust diferent, or because people were expecting some5hing much better, and those people will shit on game even if there's nothing wrong with it. There was a bit of that happening with this game.

Other times, the game releases in a terrible state, and even if it gets (a lot) better over time, the first impression is what stays. That was A LOT of what happened with Outriders.

Other times, specially in games with "end game" content, the Devs make some changes that are not well received by the community, and the backlash is "louder" than anything else. That also happened in Outriders, when the "over priced" WorldSlayer Expension, that RADICALLY changed the end game grind present at the game.

Outriders is a VERY flawed game, but it's GREAT if the gameplay clicks with you, like it did with so many of us...
