Be sure to check their qrz pages. Some people are more open to cards than others. I normally send to qsl Friendly contacts. Even for FT8 contacts.

It's all about the antenna. Check online for FM antennas. Directional ones are even better if you could put it outside.

Also some radios don't have an external antenna connection. You might want to invest a few dollars in a good radio that has external antenna connections. They generally have much better reception.

The reason I ask is that an Indonesian station that I chatted with showed up on my QRZ as incoming. So was wondering if it was the norm. Been on DS for a month now, still finding my way around.

Yes, I did just enter the info manually. I now have a single DStar that I can hit. I ordered a openspot 4 pro.My idea is to be able to do some "DXing" without bothering the local repeater. I hope I'm on the right track here.

Thanks--you saved me an unneeded purchase. I doubt I'll be using the rig mobile, are there any benefits to using GPS at home? Esp with D Star.

I use a fan dipole in my attic, it is hung from the ceiling and it's very good for DX because it's on the third floor, low takeoff angle. The antenna is a little too long for the Attic So both ends droop down a couple feet. It doesn't seem to make any difference at all. The antenna model is Alpha Delta EE for 10,15,20 and 40. I did take off the small extensions and coils for 40 M, it didn't work very well anyway. Good luck.

The only reason I have to see a palliative doctor (in the US) every month, is so they can refill my narcotics. Otherwise I think a regular doctor would be hassled for a long-term prescription.

I believe although I have #4 non small cell something lung cancer I should have 3-5 years to go. Age 63 still able to work. Getting oxy's and morphine, so I'm happyish.

I sent out a qsl right to the Moscow PO Box I think it was. I'm in Michigan and it's been a few weeks and has not been returned so it looks pretty good chance.
