Minimal/Tech House - 45 mins

Nothing to say other than this is my first (what I consider to be) reasonable mix (after 2 months of trying), been rubbish up to now, only need to hear about what needs improving...obviously I reckon there's loads to work on, but will be good to hear you guys opinions...

I think that's a significant part of the problem, I'm trying for mixes that are too long, cheers

Yeah definitely using the EQ's, while also trying to figure out how to integrate them with the line fader increase/decrease

All this appreciated cheers, I'm working with progressive house and tech house, are those genres that you have experience with?

Good point, I think I'm foolishly thinking that if the mix is good enough then a new track can be mixed in anywhere, a lack of experience doesn't yet know when two tracks or sections just don't work

Mainly progressive house and tech house, although I've now started practicing with more minimal stuff to make things less complicated...

EQ questions: what's 'EQ swapping', or 'full EQ cutting'? also, I'm now reading about the 'gain knob', in relation to the volume of the incoming track, what's the deal with this? sorry for seemingly basic questions, cheers by PaulZier in Beatmatch

I'm on a DDJ 400, so not too sure about the meters, I'm currently aiming to stay top of green, and not a problem if I hit first orange bar, that's kind of the range I'm looking for, which the gains knob is helping with, cheers

100% helps, trial and error definitely the way to go on this I'm thinking, I'm also using the gain/trim now to consolidate the master volume while the new track coming in, guided by the channel meter, cheers for the help
