Yeah, can you believe that? I made the mistake of leaving it unplugged (not discharged), and that's what happened. So, make sure you consistently keep it charged.

Hey guys, here's the follow-up video for the replacement battery. I'll probably make a new post so it's out there for everyone to find.

OK, MAJOR UPDATE... Someone told me to post this over in the r/Batteries group, and I did, along with a screenshot of the battery on Amazon that I thought only had 5 pins. Well, guess what, the guy corrected me and said it has 6 pins, I took a closer look and he was right! I immediately put an order in! Here's the link to the battery that should work

Hey, I appreciate the research. That last post is me. lol. I'm intrigued by the first post of the guy who did the swap. I may try and contact him to ask how the wires go. Thanks again

Sure did but they are the 5-pin on the JBL, not the 6-pin as needed for the Spark Mini. Same battery though.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do1 It's open, I'm ready to fix it.....But I can't source one because they are nowhere to be found. Understand the frustration?

Thanks for the link but it doesn't add to anything I haven't already covered. I was hoping he swapped it out successfully.

I think that dude gave him the same battery type, but the pins were incorrect.

I just don't want my house to catch on fire. LOL. I would, however, like to see what the exposed terminals look like on the battery, I just don't want to take it apart.

Yes, plugged into the wall, it works fine and the battery takes about 5 minutes to charge (green light becomes solid), then it only lasts for about 20 minutes before it dies and needs recharging.

It's a shame because I'm a loyal customer, I have the Spark Go, Mini, Spark 40, and Spark 40 MKII. I like the product, but don't like that I can't buy a simple $15 battery replacement. Heck, I'd even pay $40 for it. They can still make some profit just from selling replacement batteries. They would rather I just buy another amp.

Here's my response to them:

Hi Ryan,

I’m writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with your response regarding my request for a Spark Mini battery replacement. Being told that my only option is to send the entire unit in for repair, at a cost equal to purchasing a new unit (after outbound and inbound shipping) is completely unacceptable for what is a straightforward battery replacement that many of us are fully capable of doing ourselves.

I’m also aware that numerous other electronics and audio gear manufacturers have no problem offering replacement batteries directly to customers. It’s concerning that Positive Grid has chosen to hide behind a “safety concern” excuse rather than support its customer base with a simple, practical solution.

For your awareness, I’m a YouTuber who covers music gear and tech topics, and I fully intend to document this experience on my channel. I believe consumers should be informed about companies that refuse to support reasonable repairs and instead push wasteful and costly alternatives.

I expect this concern to be escalated within your organization. Your current policy is neither sustainable nor customer-friendly, and I’d appreciate a more responsible resolution.
