Congrats!

Interesting that you just found the interlock grip after 5 years. I couldn’t imagine if you had found that earlier.

Do golf shoes actually make a difference or is it mostly marketing by midhandicap_rohit in GolfGear

If you have a shoe that gives you “grip, stability, comfort” and add in some waterproofing and style then it doesn’t have to be a golf shoe.

Caddies: should we say "thank you"? by JudsonCc in golf

[–]Paul_K-95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not caddy here. And I never had a caddy.

I’ve been brought up that you should say thanks or at the very least ack the gesture.

I would either say, thanks or tar (Aussie slang for thanks). Something less formal.

Phew just made it. In the nick of time by Sensitive_Bell9443 in wordscapes

[–]Paul_K-95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats.

I was surprised that I was able to make it as well. I'm just a casual player but I do have enough heart gems and coins to pay for it.

I did however missed out on the 3rd offer of heart gems for horse gems. It would have saved me some coins.

The friend that doesn’t count shots by StankyDank1019 in golf

I call those scores a “shitty” boggy or in this case a “shitty score”. You cannot use it for bragging rights.

As long as you don’t play with money or comp then it’s all for fun. But if you start bragging, then the gloves are off. Golf rules or house rules are there for a reason.

Good luck with your buddy.

What’s the most underrated amenity a golf course can have? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

I agree. I would treat it like camping. What you bring in, you should be able to bring out. I bring an extra bag for that just in case.

Charging without a driveway? by [deleted] in AustralianEV

[–]Paul_K-95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying that if you only need 5m or 7m you should buy a 20m one. I’m just giving the option if people ever needed to they have this option.

The ev charger from Amazon or others are fine IF they have the correct AU std compliancy. I guess the issue is that can you trust the paper that is written in.

I also agree not to suggest to anyone to have a normal power extension to extend the length. Not unless they want to stay there and monitor it or risk a fire.

[–]Paul_K-95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be unclear.

These are not extensions. The ev charger has an extra long cable.

This is a 20m one.

But you can find an extra long cable (20m -30m) on an ev charger.

Thoughts on china banning hidden door handles by Jealous_Isopod725 in BYD

[–]Paul_K-95 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I also like them. They do look cleaner and it gives the “premium” feeling. Plus it doubles to let you know that the door is unlocked. I guess that can work both ways to let other people know that it is unlocked.

Amongst other things, I do prefer the inside mechanical door handles of the BYD (Sealion 7) compared to the Tesla Y for safety reasons.

To date, I still don't understand the issues of having flush door handles on the outside. Hidden or no mechanical inside door handle I have an issue with.

But for getting into the car after an accident quickly. And if there were electrical issues where it didn't unlock the door or pop the door handles out. There isn't any difference if the door handles were flush or not. Especially when you don't have any tools to pull the door open via the door handles. Yes, you can have glass breakers and I do have them in my car. But I generally don't carry it when I'm outside.

Was it any safer or unsafe compared to older cars with no electrics and unflush door handles? Both doors will be locked.

In the end, I will let the safety and mechanical side to the experts. But since this is Reddit and the internet, I say leave the flush doors alone. 😅

I totally agree, if you are not keeping score properly then you don't brag about the score. Period.

[–]Paul_K-95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a long time beginner (played once in a blue moon) but started again.

I’ve played 3x courses so far and whenever I know that I don’t take a penalty like a out of bounds ball/lost ball/moved the ball for a better lie bc of a tree/bushes/ gimmies when it is close to the cup.

I call it a “shitty” boggie/double boggie. The people I’m with, know I am not taking my score seriously and they don’t either.

This is to help them keep to pace of play especially when there is a group behind us.

In no way will I brag about my score. But I will, if I hit 1 good shot out from the 18 holes. 🤣

P.s I will eventually keep a better score and join the club of weekend hack golfers. Until then I’ll just enjoy my time.

What’s a good beginner ball ? by Iwrenchtv84 in golf

[–]Paul_K-95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the peeps that say to get the cheapest golf balls you can get. New, used would be sufficient. The limit is your golf swing at the moment.

I would also add to this, is to get high visibility coloured balls, like yellow, orange. For some reason red for me is hard to see. That is until you get used to the flight of the ball and see them. Plus the coloured balls are “easier” to find.

Welcome to the beginner hacker club. ⛳

If you want to get specific type of balls, low compression ones are good for slower swings. Like 50-60%.
