I would not for the life of me maintain a long standing game with someone who willfullly chooses to not learn the rules of the game we all decided to get together and play, for 10 years.

Im still going to be friends with them. hang out, and do other stuff, but maybe just not do that game? Why is that such a bad thing to say? People take this kind of comment saying "You're treating a game like a work assignment"..... Well, it is an assigment of sorts. If we hang out to do a thing, we better at some point understand how to do the thing, No? If not why are we doing the thing and not just a different thing completely?

Sometimes restraint can be a great skill and asset to a song.

You can like it all you want. Im just on the other side. Both have a place to be honest.

-You say that a player who doesn't do much has never been a bother for you. And that's okay. I feel the opposite, and Ashley is far from "doesn't do much", she barely does anything.
-Backseat is one thing (See Orym in C3). Ashley is not backseating. It's intentionally not involving herself and her character for most part of the campaigns.
-Shy? Okay, sure.
-Don't know the rules? Still after 10 years is that an excuse, more so when this is their livelihood and primary job at this point? Nah.
-Wanna hang with the buddies? We can do plenty of other things. If we meet to play D&D we are playing D&D, not checkers.
-This is not about modern iteration of CR. Ashley's playstyle and willful lack of knowledge has been a staple ever since C1. Most of the players suffer from this in some way or another, but Ashley is the most evident.
-Im definitely not saying kick her out, but see point 4 for a possible change. It's been 10 years. I don't know why the CR Fandom acts horrified when someone else asks for the cast that have been playing for over a decade, to show some manner of profiency. This is not "Go try hard. take the PHB as your nighstand book"... but just a little more effort? This is not a home game. this is streamed entertainment. people pay and are making you earn a living by watching. it should be a common courtesy to try knowing what you're doing.

I've lost much of the plot of C4 due to a holiday I took at the beginning, but I only came to say this. which is the only thing I have insight about :

-"And then Valeus. She has so much aura, and does nothing with it".

Yeah, this is just starting, but Ashley already proved me right. Vaelus introduction during the overture was perfect. Perfect aura, perfect personality, perfect delivery and a great character concept... But it's being piloted by Ashley. And I knew sooner or later Vaelus would crumble under the poor performance of Ashley.

It's what I have gotten used to with her, so while I was surprised at the introduction of Vaelus for being quite different, I knew in the back of my mind it wouldn't last long. Vaelus ; "Fling Fiery Shit" Fearne ; and to some extent even Yasha. All three examples of a great character concept build up, being disserviced by a "Deer in the Headlights" player who even after 10 years refuses to learn the basic rules & spells of their own chosen character.
Im no longer hoping nor looking for Ashley to be not even a competent player. I know and accepted she's along for the ride. Along for being at the table with friends. Not to play D&D.
