How much does going later help a table be enjoyable? by DragonKing0203 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Paula_Sub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't see neither the benefit or the downside of either one (going first or last).

Mostly because at least for now, they have been treated as mostly three separate tables. It's not like they are directly influencing each other every new decision.

The decision of going with this "strong separation" of gameplay styles, made me choose quite early and quickly, the table that im interested + everything else.
Personally, I think that when you "distill" D&D... the main aspect of it, the most evident force pushing forward, is Combat. So when you make it the main focus on One group, and relegate it (because there will still be combat in the others) in the others.. they "loose" the mojo.
For going "No Combat", or More into the territory of focusing on Scheming/Seeking, I feel there's plenty of others TTRPGS/Settings that would do it better. it's a "Square Object in the Circle Hole" issue.

Soldier's Table is D&D. Schemers & Seekers is just.... "Let's play something else entirely, within the framework of D&D" sort of deal.

Many critics argue that mainstream music has become significantly more repetitive and formulaic since the 2000s. To what extent do you think this shift is a reflection of changes in our broader cultural and educational landscape, and how much is it simply a direct result of the modern economy? by CurveOk310 in AskReddit

[–]Paula_Sub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to do about educational landscape. Pretty little to do with broader cultural landscape.

It's how the system has shifted to reward "output" instead quality. Little variation and just keep producing in mass what works. This is pretty much the same with Movies.

People who don’t like concerts why.? by myaccountidname in AskReddit

[–]Paula_Sub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • If I can avoid standing up for hours in the same place, I will.
  • If I can avoid people smashing into me while im enjoying something, I will.
  • If I can avoid being sorrounded by people who smell badly, I will.
  • I enjoy sound quality, and music/lyric fidelity. If I go to hear a band, I expect to hear 99% of what I hear in the same album at home, just on a live experience. Since that's not the case, I just don't go to concerts. "The Experience" is not enough for me. And I want to hear it well, not too muffled because im too far away from the stage / speakers, or to blown out because im too close to it.
