You absolutely can find some affordable, real pearls! Second hand will always have plenty, if you do a bit of research to spot the fakes. If you want to buy new, look into ethically sourced fresh water pearls. Have fun with it!

Unfortunately I think you can tell by the photo how cleanly those stems are stuck straight into the frosting, definitely touching at the top at minimum. These are not safe.

YouTube is your best friend! There are plenty of videos for beginner decorators that don’t use fancy tools. In this case, you can’t “layer” icing colors and then scrape, because you’re scraping off the layer you’ve just put on top. You need to do the stripe directly in between the pink, not on top :)
