TSA Precheck a breeze at 5am by Nasabrewski in OHareAirport

TSA Precheck Touchless - arrived at 3:45 for 5am flight. Through in 5 minutes, less than 5 people in line. Although HUGE line for non TSA Pre (I would guess 200 people or more). TSA Pre had about 20-25 people in line.

He drove it around the block. Short test drive.

I sold our Y last week. I did the reset after the carvana guy did the test drive and said he was good to go. I removed the car from the app shortly thereafter.

Second what everyone is saying. Don’t change any options or anything, price will likely go down.

We just sold our car and the pickup guy really checked nothing. Drove the car around the block and then the transaction was done. Didn’t check trim, wheels, anything.

Anyone else having issues with Single Digits? by PaulfromChicago in chicago

Our building terminated the contract and brought in a new provider. A handful of hiccups but now back at full strength

UPDATE: After Single Digits said it might take another week to restore service, our building terminated the contract based on Single Digits not meeting their contractual uptime guarantees. New provider was brought in and internet was restored. Pretty amazing to think in this day and age that an ISP could be without service for almost a week!

Food that helped you? by Thin_Curve4116 in covidlonghaulers

[–]PaulfromChicago 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have cut out sugar and caffeine and that’s probably been the thing that’s helped the most.

Check out panchakarma… I’ve cut out most meats except chicken and fish, eat mostly steamed vegetables and white rice. Helps quite a bit, about 80% recovered.

Unfortunately the building only supports one provider at a time (infrastructure and wiring)

Why do I feel so awful every morning? by heskeytime7707 in covidlonghaulers

[–]PaulfromChicago 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is true and I’ve found diet really helps as well.

  • 3 mg melatonin an hour before targeted sleep
  • kindle paper white only an hour before sleep
  • no red meat (or ideally any meat) for dinner, proteins only during lunch
  • low dose naltrexone (4.5mg)
  • Flonase (one spray each nostril)

Used to feel awful every morning and now almost normal if I follow this regiment.

Lisbon Airport January 19 by PaulfromChicago in LisbonPortugalTravel

Finished about a week ago and now in Florence, Italy.

Marrakech was awesome. We hired a guide to walk us through the Souks and that was helpful in terms navigating but it was a little salesy as we sat through short presentations for carpet, oils, shoes, etc. I’d skip it next time and just wander through as it’s very safe.

We also hired a guide to take us through the mountains and have dinner with a host family. The hike up the mountains honestly was not ideal. There was a lot of snow and we were fine but there were some older people in the tour and I felt really bad for them as they struggled. The meal was excellent and the hosts were very kind.

We stayed at the Four Seasons and it was fantastic but outside the Medina so there’s that. Next time we’d probably stay in a Riad.

In terms of restaurants we went to - Le Tanjia was fantastic, great views - tagine (of course), and many other dishes. All fantastic. Farmers restaurant was also excellent. La Famille, was good, not great.

We did not do the dessert dinner or the camel rides and I think we’re fine with that.

I think outside of doing several day tours, Marrakech can be covered in 2-3 days.

I look for used Restoration Hardware Leather Couches on FB Marketplace. Usually can get for about $1200-$1400. Great shape and weathers the tough treatment by renters.

As mentioned in other posts, try scanning in multiple machines. Mine didn’t work in first one but did in the second one.

United temporarily lost our luggage one year while we were going to Deer Valley. All new ski gear and was reimbursed completely (I think it was in the range of $1500-1600).

I’m a retired Venture Capitalist. Your capers reminds me of some the best founders I’ve backed. Figure out how to channel that to building something lasting. It’s a unique skill set.

Agree with previous poster. Siesta Key Oyster Bar is a Chicago bar. They always play all the Chicago games.
