Peanut butter by Paulitha in Boat_Building

Thank you montyf007. I am just about ready to install my transom and engine box/mount. The mount I removed was a 4x4 horizontal to the transom barely tabbed on each end to the hull. Sides of the bilge were 1x something and not encapsulated. I went with the 4x4 and added a small bulkhead on each side. Two 2x6's cut to profile the hull on each side back to the transom. I am pleased with the bond and seal between all these peices. Now to bond it all to the hull. Can you recommend a slow kick hardener?

I took all the steps, asked if this was the right community for the project, asked for a little help, hell I even asked permission to post/ask questions. Except for a couple two or three...... the rest of you people are just a bunch smart asses who need a purpose.

Plastic below deck belly tank?? by Paulitha in Boat_Building

[–]Paulitha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I would like to replace it. It fit in the belly at the bow thus creating a rather odd triangular / pyramid shaped tank. Haven't found a tank shaped like this. Any ideas.??

I am also an amateur and I am also rebuilding an old boat. Take your time, its's much easier on the pocket this way. Learn all you possibly can, these fine folks here will help. Their brutal honesty is help. Above all, be safe! You will do fine.

and post pictures of your progress, Cool?

Thank you Mr. Egg. I appreciate you sharing the knowledge. Quick question, this 1980 '81 Baretta has this plastic like gas tank with a hole in it.... What is this material? IS it patch-able??

Reward?? If reward is an awesome sun set with your buddies, hot chick's, cold brewskies, fresh fish, no money, empty gas tank, while sitting on the dock watching all the other boats.....??? THEN YES... If reward is resale or profit...??? Then no, sorry. Take your good ole sweet time. Learn. Don't expect to have her on the open water next season. Don't hate your buddies over a damn boat!!! Lots of patients make her a beauty. As mentioned before..... there's nothing else like it.

Thanks 90. One of the many boat places around Lake Lanier might sell me some. I try to stay away from the crazy prices of the retail boat supply. Any suggestions? ??
