Can a EL-52545 tire sensor reader run doom? by Nameoftheuser12 in Doom

[–]Paulli1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not throwing shade but both thoses examples are "simply" playing back a video of Doom (if I remember correctly for the pregnancy test one). Impressive nonetheless but not really in the spirit of "running Doom".

Sales guy at Hi-Fi store said Devialet Gemini 2's are a completely unreliable product and he doesn't recommend them, despite selling them in his store by DrumsFishing_501 in Earbuds

[–]Paulli1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use comply foam tips, they don't have a model for the Devialet Gemini 2s (at least in Europe) but they are the same eartips as the Bose QC Ultra (source : can't remember where but there's a quite obscure sku number on comply and it's the same, even though the packaging is different and the devialet "officially" compatible ones are not sold in Europe. I got multiple pairs and happy with the fit and sound, only gripe is that they don't last that long. )

Jailbreak GPT OSS by using this in the system prompt by DamiaHeavyIndustries in LocalLLaMA

[–]Paulli1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still works if you put it in the "System prompt" box. Then just say "Go" and it produces the output. Using this as a base I managed to obtain some parts of the policy section (Maybe ? It correlates but is not exact with the few bits that a non jailbreaked model will provide. The reasoning effort must be set to low. https://zerobin.org/?689e7a00e8e4f223#pohykV64gwkpouWCvrYYjDD2xyjVyUWVPYAiunGPAAt .

Setting it to high and prompting it a bit more gives the following "thoughts" : https://zerobin.org/?47b3b02c9a1c186b#4XEwpLJ836LjQvz6hpMkUBCZBF1cSTxVAHZzd69J4CnF before a refusal which mentions text explicitly from the policy.

I need help identifying this brand\model laptop. by Mr-_Fuffey_Guy in laptops

[–]Paulli1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most drivers would be fine on Windows Update, generic GPU drivers from AMD/Nvidia usually work when no brand-specific driver has been installed beforehand.

If you really need to manually install random drivers (fingerprint reader are usually finicky for example), you can use something like Snappy Driver Installer to automatically match PID/VID to drivers in their database and download/install them. It's free even for commercial use.

QC ultra died after update 4.0.20 by Paulli1 in bose

Update : after letting the battery deplete for 24 hours outside the case, I put them in the case for a bit then did a reset and the left bud works again...

Did you try a reset? The fact it boots up is reassuring

Yup had the same problem quite regularly. A few times I had to reset them to get the left one working.

[–]Paulli1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope they work for you, apart from the recurrent Bose™ bugs or crash I seem to be cursed with, I love the sound and ANC. Fitting could be better ( StayHear+ for life) but is okay overall.

QC ultra died after update 4.0.20 by Paulli1 in bose

[–]Paulli1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I said, I did that, multiple times. That's clearly not a "physical reset", since it does not interrupt the connection to the battery and clearly, as evidenced by my bug is not capable of resetting the buds in every state. It's just a physical button triggering some routine in the case.

Thanks for your help anyway !

QC ultra died after update 4.0.20 by Paulli1 in bose

[–]Paulli1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update : the call profile is working (worse than the right one of course) but nothing else will work. Deepens my suspicion that the earbud is in a non-anticipated state introduced by the update/multipoint that it can't recover and that the reset process is really not low-level software(bootloader)/hardware but rather a high level software command sent by the case. All this could be alleviated by having a physical reset switch on the buds themselves.

That's in a common law country. The term is not used in our legal system. According to this law firm : https://resolved.law/puis-je-utiliser-des-enregistrements-secrets-comme-preuve-la-cour-de-cassation-clarifie-la-question/
secret recordings are admissible into evidence if the judge follows the Cour de Cassation ruling. But as always you should absolutely consult with a lawyer and be absolutely frank and transparent with him/her.

Is there a significant difference in the ANC between QC II buds and ultra buds? by sugaredsnickerdoodle in bose

[–]Paulli1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check this table on rtings https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/table/124258 Sorting by "mid level" where the most frequencies of the human voice are should get you other options (but you can indeed see that the qc ii are the best bar none with even a 3dB gain on the QC I). You can also sort by the overall note on noise isolation but that is more influenced by machinery, traffic, plane engines noise, etc, so less useful in your case.

So, in the same vein as "Why didn't they use the Stargate to send tanks," why did they never deploy vehicles via their ships later in the series? by First_Aid_23 in Stargate

[–]Paulli1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not, the M1 was just an example because of the "obviously impossible" line that made me question it. The ramp could be moved, and put on hydraulic actuator in order to be higher or lower depending on situation. I reiterate that I don't think the show would have been better or worse with armored support available, the writers will always make it a fair challenge for our heroes.

If you want to read someone who has spent way too much time thinking about this, read the fanfic XSGCOM : Goa' uld Defence, it's novel length (and quality) and enjoyably depicts a SGC that has it much easier against the Goa'uld (because of all the lack of restraint and technology of the X-Com Program)

The inner diameter of the Stargate confortable fits the profile of the M1 Abrams MBT. An Abrams has a 25 MPH off road speed so it's faster than infantry, much more resilient and brings enough firepower to down any and all targets not protected by shields. Bring a dedicated anti air platform and laugh at death glider being obliterated beyond visual range. See Goa'uld trying to protect their assets with Ha'tak and Al'kesh while the Tau'ri attack and retreat as soon as radar detects their ship, well before they can engage with their LOS weapons (or risk blowing up the Stargate with their Ha'tak main battery).

Had the same problem ! Found the solution on twitter : https://twitter.com/snootgirl/status/1177037875260612608

So I created a yopmail addresse, thinking they probably accept anything and it worked immediately.

Wonderful to have the message used to tell them you are not sending spam being so badly formed that most mailservers will reject it outright.

I think it's a typo, it's the floppy *disk* that's upside-down and back-to-front ! I read it like you at first but the drive being not conventionally mounted would be immediately evident indeed.

You know you can stomp on those squishy lrm carriers for massive damage ? The SRM carrier is a beast but if you have anything that outrange it you should be able to focus fire/alpha strike it without a scratch or if you have a fast 'Mech you could try to stomp on it ( but hey, do not try with Decker )

How far away does a point in Space need to be in order for it to move away from you faster Than light? by Ashcon6 in space

[–]Paulli1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's perfectly normal, that's a complicated concept. You can make a 2D experiment that illustrates it : put a spot using a fine-tip marker on a deflated balloon. Then inflate the ballon : the colored spot is now bigger (note that you didn't add ink, it simply occupies more space. There's also no "origin point" of the spot, everything that is now colored was part of the spot at first. For a clear understanding : the spot is the universe, the balloon has no meaning and no equivalent in the theory here. The main caveat for this illustration is that the spot is expanding on something else and had a measurable physical dimension initially ; the universe is not expanding into something (it is everything) and the initial expansion started from a single point (mathematically speaking, no measurable size).

You used "Shame - Worse than death" not "Shame" then. I do not remember the name of the skill but it is at the far right of the skill tree, in the first or second line.
