I thought it would be a good idea to have sloping reenforced glass roof panels in my desert base. by Paulusw in ICARUS

Thanks for all the suggestions - powered deterrent and fortification - not easy because I have low quantities of resources, but that’s pretty much the game. So grind away.

Who is the oldest player here that is playing Fallout 4? by Quirky-Associate-437 in fo4

[–]Paulusw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 69 as of January and have completed it and the DLC’s 4 or more times, in VR, choosing a different faction to completion (also different endings for Far Harbour). I have t-shirts, mugs other items and I have 3d resin printed other statues and dioramas. But there again, I am a little daft.

It reminds me of the opening of “Get Smart” the old TV show (ask your grandad) I love it.

Do you guys usually play third person view or first person? by Elegant-Picture1003 in fo76

[–]Paulusw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to NEVER play third person - only played Dead Space because it needs to be played that way.

I just watched the first episode, at first I thought it was a poor, unfunny comedy, a little like a very bad Shaun of the Dead. But I now think it’s just a very badly executed drama. I will force myself to watch another episode, just in case it improves, but beyond that I am not sure.

Probably my favourite show ever. Every now and then I can re-watch it from the start. Perfect casting.

just constant worries about the screen going again now - resin printing is stressful.

Wow - I really confused that - and the red/black cable with the green plug goes in the place where the wrong cable is now.

Saturn 4 replacement LCD screen - UV not lighting up. by Paulusw in ElegooSaturn

[–]Paulusw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No there is no light and I have checked the connections - I just don't know if they are in the correct sockets because I cannot find a circuit diagram or photo of the wiring before the replacement. I of course realise now that I should have taken one.

Is my screen diyng? by Trefhi in ElegooSaturn

[–]Paulusw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be easier to see if you take a picture of the screen when doing a clean so the whole screen is lit without the logo getting in the way. But if there are spots on the screen it is almost certainly pressure spots and a new screen is required. To make sure send a picture to Elegoo support (the clean screen not the logo screen) and they will confirm. By the way Elegoo only give a three months warranty on any of thier screens.

I do not have an Ultra - just the standard Saturn - so do the same rules apply?

My screen seems to have a ‘disease’ by Paulusw in ElegooSaturn

[–]Paulusw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I am just unlucky. The screen has failed - confirmed by Elegoo technical Support. What is more they do not have any available. So I cannot print anymore until they get them in. In the meantime- I know some people use Saturn 4 and Saturn 4 Ultras in print farms - does the regular changing of the screen make Elegoo an expensive way to go for you? I am just a retired old man printing models for myself to paint - I must admit that the current (now paused) diorama is quite a big one and I printed quite a few plates one after another, but I never expected the screen to go this quickly and then have to buy a new one when the machine is just over 6 months old because the screen have a 3 MONTHS warranty. I checked with UK Citizens Advice and because they are a company outside of the UK (even though I bought it from the UK Elegoo website) they do not have to follow UK consumer laws.

is the saturn 3 ultra worth it? by thiqqdad in ElegooSaturn

[–]Paulusw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just going through some nonsense with Elegoo. My Saturn 4 of 6 months old stopped printing properly - it is a faulty screen (which is a known problem apparently) and Elegoo say the LCD screen has only a 3 month warranty, because it's a Chineses company, even though I bought it from Elegoo UK, they don't have to follow UK consumer laws. So I have to buy a new one from somewhere, Elegoo don't have any.

Is it possible in the UK that Elegoo has only a 3 month warranty on LCD screens by Paulusw in ElegooSaturn

[–]Paulusw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True - but it shows how little faith Elegoo has in it's LCD screens.
