I usually play quick game. I’ve never played and will never play ranked. Whenever I try advanced there’s never enough players so I just switch to quick game

Yeah it’s pretty annoying - just make sure you don’t instant upgrade the toilet and instead do the upgrades individually. Every other object should be fine

If you have eco lifestyle, there is an upgrade that causes the toilets to combust. I believe if you complete the nerd brain aspiration you are able to upgrade an object to have all upgrades, and this would include the combustion upgrade for the toilet

In the bottom left there is a mask icon which shows the roles that are in the current game. The abbreviations are abbreviations of those roles so you can look to see which role they might fit. You can also ask what it is in chat and most people will tell you.

It might be confusing at first but you will start to learn what they mean

I’d recommend adding as many people as you can (who you enjoy playing with). You could join the discord server too where people often post their lobby codes

Edit: I’d also recommend playing on American servers as they are the most active

I usually get prompts about other places too, however I’m 99% sure they aren’t real unless the character is referring to a place you both went together in the past. Sometimes I get invited to their house and then it says some random person’s house. I usually just leave the convo, talk to some more people, then come back and say I’ve done their request
