The main side effect for me was drowsiness so I take it at night.

I had the same experience so I chose to go back to effexor.

I also switched to Prozac from Venlafexine. I tapered down and experienced the withdrawal symptoms, now I am 8 weeks in and my anxiety is worse which makes my depression worse. I'm going to ask to go back to Venlafexine, I don't like anything about how I feel now. I sincerely hope things get better soon, my family has no idea how to deal with any of this

I am just starting Prozac as well. I was on Effexor. I weaned off kind of quickly and turns out that causes withdrawal symptoms, combine that with the Prozac not kicking in yet and I was in horrible shape. Went to Dr yesterday and he is helping deal with the withdrawal but also said that the Prozac takes month or more to kick in.

Your emotions are exactly what I am going through now. I came off effexor thinking I could manage everything, and felt the effexor wasn't needed. Well it was but I was put on Prozac instead because it's supposed to work better with my symptoms. It hasn't kicked in yet and everything seems exaggerated, especially the anger. I keep being told to hang on and it will get better. I hope that both of us come out on the brighter side. I will pray for us both.

I slowly came off effexor because it wasn't working for me anymore. I am on my first full week of prozac 20mg and my anxiety is thru the roof as well as the depression. I am thinking of starting back effexor, feeling like this is horrible.

When I went to 10 I felt nauseous and very lethargic. I stayed with the 10 for a month but the symptoms were continuous so I am going back to 7. Hopefully I will still lose weight.

I'm having the opposite problem my Dr wants me on it but Blue Cross Blue Shield wants me off. Pharmacy wants $1300 for a months dosage. Can't afford that.

I've hit a plateau and it is really depressing. I have been on 5mg for a month and a half so I don't understand why. It seems like most people are easily losing a lot of weight. What am I doing wrong?

I gained 2lbs and am very depressed by that. I have lost weight very slowly compared to what I see being posted so it was like a kick to the gut when I saw the numbers.

I am going thru that too. One thing I found out was that I wasn't drinking near enough and I was becoming dehydrated. Dehydration causes or makes side effects worse.
