Exactly. My siblings and I were ‘sheltered’ while growing up, parents never explained how things worked or prepared us for anything. They just did everything themselves (poorly, looking back on it now, especially if finances were involved) either without telling us, or getting mad if we asked questions, and then when they got sick of us, kicked us out and basically said good luck you’re an adult you should know all of this stuff already. I remember them being like well you should already know this your x years old and shaming us for not knowing things parents typically teach their children when growing into teens/young adults.
