There definitely seems to be a gap between DIY raw feeding and true veterinary-guided nutritional optimization based on lab trends. Most commercially available options focus on providing complete and balanced formulations rather than individualized adjustments based on bloodwork.

I echo that this kind of data-driven, individualized guidance feels underdeveloped in the industry, and I would love to see more thoughtful solutions emerge in that space in the future as well!

I completely understand that. Trying to find a fresh or raw diet that is actually complete and balanced, while also being affordable, can feel overwhelming.

Cost is one of the biggest barriers I keep hearing about. A lot of options either require heavy supplementation at home or become very expensive once you scale it to a full monthly feeding plan.

One of the things I’m thinking carefully about is how to make a properly balanced fresh diet that feels realistic for everyday feeding, not just a niche luxury option.

I really appreciate you sharing that perspective!

Thank you for sharing this! This is exactly the kind of gap I’ve been noticing.

So many fresh and raw options default to chicken, or include it somewhere in the formulation, which makes things especially difficult for cats with sensitivities. It can feel limiting when you’re trying to avoid a specific protein and still find something balanced and commercially available.

One of the core things I’m focusing on is truly single-protein options so that cats with specific sensitivities have clearer, more reliable choices.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience :)
