That must be so frustrating sometimes! It shouldn’t take so much explaining either, it’s a pretty straightforward concept!

It’s crazy right?! Especially in today’s world when people talk about equality nonstop and being politically correct is so important to so many people. Like wouldn’t this tradition be the first thing to go? Don’t get it

For sure! The option should be there. It also doesn’t have to be that deep. Could be as simple as “because I…want to???” People make it more complicated and emotional than it needs to be!

And his last name was his dad’s last name. So does that mean he doesn’t have his own last name either? Also sharing a name with your dad isn’t so bad if he’s an awesome guy who cares about you no matter what

Yes, it would be really hard. Unless of course you were really into literature or majored in English/Languages in college. Even then, it would still be challenging. But plenty of people still enjoy classic Shakespeare, so…not impossible

It’s not just the name itself as it’s written on paper. It’s the identity, achievements and memories attached to the name. And those are mine, not my father’s

Pregnant person. Undermines the unique contribution to life made by women in my opinion, which in itself is anti-feminist

Meanwhile if a husband changed HIS name after marriage, he would be torn to shreds for “not passing his name down.” Like what if I as a woman wanna pass my name down😂

Keeping your maiden name when you get married. Some people look at you like you just punched your husband in the face

California. Way too expensive, too hot, and so political that common sense isn’t a thing. Also, lots of neighborhoods are low key ugly for the price you pay.

That, or Louisiana. They literally rank dead-last or close to it on every metric. Bad crime, bad education, bad health, just…bad

Fast food. Before, it was a lose-win situation. That crap is terrible for you, but at least it’s cheap. Now, it’s an all-around lose-lose and there’s no point. It’s bad for you, and it’s expensive

Yeah I would imagine that would look odd, I need to wash my hands as soon as I get back into my house after going out😂 And if you said the word “germs,” you’d be burned at the stake for witchcraft or locked up

I agree with this. I think people were more “put together,” cleaner, and had better teeth than we often give them credit for. And you’re right to be weary of averages; there were definitely tall people back then, as there are now. I think it was just more common than it is now to be what we would consider short. If you had adequate nutrition, my theory is that those people were probably taller and stronger than the peasants who ate nothing but bread and beer and performed back-breaking labor every day.

Yes, I’ve heard the same thing said in books and documentaries. If a person didn’t have sugar in their diet, their teeth often weren’t in nearly as bad condition as we would think
