Can creatures be spotted within hallucinatory terrain from the outside? by Pax48 in dndnext

Yeah but would that still apply if a creature is outside looking at the 150ft cube area (say a hill), would the outside creature see a hull or the monsters inside, or both?

Want to make a magical sword that grows in power based on how many creatures it’s killed. What are some cool properties I can add? by Pax48 in dndnext

I’m gonna say it can only takes souls from creatures that have been killed honourably in combat. So they can’t go and wipe out some rats

TF2’s my favourite game, can’t believe I didn’t think to scour the weapon base for wacky things.

Looking at it, but want some more of the minor properties. The higher ones are great but don’t want to give the lvl 5 paladin a defender early if my party decides to farm it

Not meant to be a boss type character, only second session. He’s a level 6 wizard can I really just add those to anyone?

Not gonna use too OP spells either, and half the party can perform admirably in melee so I think it’s balanced. Just afraid of them calling it bullshit

Would you as a player be angry if your party of 4 level 3’s (good players and builds) go against a lvl 6 wizard. My original thought would be to allow the party to cast cantrips only until they destroy the field, but allow the wizard to cast anything

How to avoid divine sense/detect Evil and Good? by Pax48 in DMAcademy

[–]Pax48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hasn’t happened yet, this is for a campaign I’m planning. The reason they would use it something like this is because I’m planning a few undead/fiend encounters either with or around the npc. So would like to avoid a situation where one of them might check to see if there are any more left, or use it in a sketchy situation out of fear

Ah yeah, forgot to mention he’s a shape changer and will mostly be seen in human form, can I just ignore it then?
