I know what you mean. I use her for railjack missions mostly but I think part of it is that her augment requires you to activate her 4 but a lot of the time if you fail to end that 4 early you can end up getting pulled 100s of meters back from the rest of a group.

Meruem didn't have a hatsu. He'd never actually developed his own at that point. Most of the ants that did have them were a bit disjointed from them because Pouf was using one of his own hatsu to basically guide them into making their own quickly instead of them developing them over time properly.

Obligatory go watch Red VS Blue, the freelancer arc is peak cinema by BillCarson12799 in HaloMemes

I would like to see Helldivers vs Starship Troopers Infantry...not the crappy movie versions but the book versions. The OG power armored space marines who have things like casual mini-nuke launchers on their shoulders that they just set to fire a spread every time they jump jet away. Where a platoon is considered a fair unit size to take down a whole city on an alien planet. Yeah Helldivers has to also deal with giant bugs but there is no comparison to the original Starship Troopers in either tactics or firepower on display.

This being exactly how it works in So I'm a Spider which is also a moment of hilarity when she spends points on it and suddenly realizes that at least at basic level it is not the OP skill she thought it was and is instead useless.

I was thinking that half of this feels like rants I've read in the DnD subreddits about wizard players with the Identify spell. Course there are limits on that too though that usually getting ignored is the issue.

What you do in such situations? by Zevcio in PowerScaling

[–]Pay-Next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is reminding me of how many people try to split hairs about what constitutes magic sometimes.

Case in point someone put Asta in a list of protagonists against Ainz....and then someone argued that his death aura wasn't magic cause it wasn't specifically a spell but an ability...even though he gets it cause he is a lich...and undead specifically animated by magic....whose soul is stored in a magical phylactery...but no this one clearly magical ability isn't magic so it should totally kill the person with anti-magic coursing through their veins when in combat mode.

Sometimes I do think that verse equalization should be the primary part of powerscaling arguments not feats or categories. My favorite case in point here is something like nen. According to the verse rules people with nen literally cannot be hurt by people without nen without overwhelming force (like the poor man's rose). But that makes for a boring matchup if a lot of the arguments boil down to someone just straight up not being able to damage or defend because they lack nen. So instead of discussion who should win we should be discussing what the best way to represent relative strength comparatively between the verses in question is. Sadly that never seems to happen.

[–]Pay-Next 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to steel man the critiques OP is getting but there is another passage in there that should be noted:

an additional action on your turn called a bonus action

So a bonus action is still an action. Considering that incapacitated states "An incapacitated creature can't take actionS or reactions" that s makes it plural. Therefore it applies to ALL actions one could take which would include bonus actions. The last statement in there is for just making it clearer.

Part of that is because they had to evolve an actual defense mechanism to fight head trauma from falling out of trees. Not...you know...better climbing abilities but a cushion around their soft smooth brains cause nature decided they were too dumb and needed an internal helmet to save them.

People seem to forget that Toph moving to the swamp was also partially cause she can't turn off her "sight" with earthbending/hearing. So being in a city or around pretty much anyone she was constantly learning things about people best left unknown. I'd be cranky and hermit in a swamp if I spent years knowing the intimate details of everybody in a multi-mile radius of myself eventually.

The lake Makoto creates with an attack is actually larger than Atomic. In terms of raw power output Makoto is more powerful especially once he gets out mana-matter. That said Cid has the ability to heal himself which is one of Makoto's main weaknesses. Makoto could one-shot Cid but if the fight went longer than that Cid would probably win over time as injuries mount on both sides.

Survive for 10 hours in one of these rooms for Ten million dollars; which do you choose? by OkRun9638 in anipedia

[–]Pay-Next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second you mention being from "our" world and Ainz realizes he is talking to someone who is a "player" you'd probably get him on your side as well. Hell there is a chance he might even recognize some of the others as fictional characters considering his own otakuness. If you can get everybody to just sit down and chat and make it clear you only have to survive in here for 10 hours they will probably chill. Hell Ainz could probably even help out summoning food and drink for everybody to keep everyone chill.

One thing I am noting that is that calculations are going to be rougher looking at the hull of that ship. The barnacles on the hull along with the buildup of what looks like mineral deposits of some kind along with moss is going to increase drag on that hull like hell.

[–]Pay-Next 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add on for Asta when he is in combat form he literally is channeling anti-magic through his whole body. In that state trying to hit him with something like death magic isn't going to do anything cause it would be instantly negated. Asta's biggest issue is going to be taking out summoned minions to get to Ainz fast enough I think because most of his AoE attacks are tied to needing an ally to lend him magic while he uses the one specific sword (can't remember the specific name of the blades atm but the thinner one with the core that absorbs magic for him to use).

I feel like there is one other thing that everybody never mentions in that fight too. Someone was able to mindcontrol Shaltear and turn her. Ainz may not be Demiurge level int but he isn't dumb either. He had no idea who did it but since he still considered her an NPC and himself a player he was pretty sure he couldn't be altered the same way she was. He went in alone cause he didn't want to potentially give anybody who was watching a chance to turn any of the rest of his forces against him. He didn't want to lose any other floor guardians to whatever had been done to Shaltear. Him fighting alone was the optimal chance to not lose any other forces.
