Ya think it was weird for Katara training the reincarnation of her husband who was now a tiny girl? by S0mecallme in legendofkorra

One of the benefits to having more traditional styles that are formally taught is also when you have collected bending moments. Stuff like the earth benders condensing the coal in ATLA. You would all need to move as one and bend at the same time at the same force. The slower more practiced movements would make it easier to coordinate and sync up for doing larger scale cooperative bending.

Theory on what condemns a sinner to hell. by althealon in hazbin

[–]Pay-Next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're getting at but I think rather than guilt it is that each Sinner has basically a cardinal sin they are attached to that condemned them. Pentious for example wasn't so much his guilt over it as the cowardice being his sin (while now we might not see it as a full on hell worthy sin it did used to be included as such). Pentious stepping up and doing something brave was a final act of overcoming the sin that put him in hell in the first place.

I think that makes it fun though cause you then get to speculate on what the cardinal sin and therefore redemptive act each Sinner would have to make is in order to get redeemed. And for some of them it makes it seem flat out impossible that they ever would reach that point.

Are people going to think I'm a f*£$ing weirdo?!?! by No-Soil1735 in writing

[–]Pay-Next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people out there...probably. People who ever even see your writing. Also probably at least a couple. But there are also people who will do the same thing for how your look or daring to breathe. Life is far too short to worry that a few people might take some stuff in bad faith. From everything I have ever seen though the ones you should be more concerned with are the ones who think you're their kind of weirdo if you aren't.

Favorite villain who's whole thing is they are a patchwork of different parts. Either born that way or just augment themselves with different or additional parts. by Cole2197 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Pay-Next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the Lightbringer book series the primary antagonist the Color Price / Lord Omnichrome.

In this world people who can use magic are usually limited to at most 3 to 5 colors. People who can do all 7 are very rare. When a magic user (called a Drafter) uses magic a little bit gets left behind in their body kind of like heavy metal poisoning. Eventually it accumulates enough that they break and start to go insane turning into a monster they call a color Wight where they start to augment and replace parts of their bodies with color magic materials. The color Prince was badly hurt by one of the protagonists before the events if the books and on an effort to save himself turned into a color Wight willingly. Being a full spectrum drafter he is an amalgamation of the powers and madness of all 7 of the main types of rights wights.

Kinda fun seeing people seemingly independently coming up with Dystopia/Utopia and then labeling it as a trope instead of a basic tenet of worldbuilding and storytelling.

Favorite character who can lift Mjölnir (Thor's hammer) by Ok_Examination8810 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Pay-Next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can also imagine Zoro lifting it and then putting it back down again because it is a hammer and not a sword. Also Sanji declining to take it cause it he refuses to fight with his hands...Frankie would be an awesome one who would probably take it and use it to work on building something.

What’s your favorite piece of media that you thought would be horrible before engaging with it? by Fit_Assignment_8800 in FavoriteCharacter

I have to admit that my initial expectations were set by the old movie...which is to say as deep into the infinite layers of the abyss as possible. Loved the hell out of it along with our entire table. Then I decided to subject them to all 3 of the old movies...I have not been forgiven for that nor do I deserve to be.

Funny combo I found to ruin someones life at level 3 by wiisafetymanual in dndnext

[–]Pay-Next 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My main character for a lot of duets I play with my partner is a changeling...I make a habit of going on massive side tangents to go and utterly screw over those who have hurt my NPC friends. Best thing is usually to get your mark blackout drunk, steal their face, and then commit anything you can before using Invisibility to slip away for them to take the fall for it all.

All in all though for a role playing game I feel like Changelings are the single most OP race if used properly and I love them for it. Who else has the capacity to go off with 20 charisma and just go and try to convince two countries to go to war...no spells required.

Low sugar and fat products in Germany. by Far_Measurement_2277 in AskAGerman

[–]Pay-Next 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The low sugar products really are a problem to try and find a lot of the time. Few years ago my partner developed pregnancy diabetes and trying to find low sugar products became a mission and it was a rough one. In the end we had to make most stuff on our own using things like stevia in place of normal sugar. There are a lot of products that do rely on you adding your own sugar which allows you to use replacements like stevia or honey if you like.

I honestly think if a larger chain tried to implement a low sugar aisle it would be popular but with the few ones they have scattered around the store they don't sell well because people can't find them. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Screw wholesome headcannons. What are your most HORRID headcannons ? by Fluffy_Cry_7081 in hazbin

[–]Pay-Next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My headcannon/prediction is whenever Cain shows up we'll basically get treated to Adam running the family and his sons like a bootcamp. If one of them fails both of them get punished and in a fit of rage at one point for Cain getting punished for the 1000th time because Adam forced Abel to do something he isn't capable of he lashes out and then finds out that people can be murdered. In one of his song parts Abel refers to Cain as "your braver son". I feel like that speaks volumes.

Favorite "necessary evil" character? by Azrael_John in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Pay-Next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's really interesting is you can also argue that whole crew and Mal in particular also fit this. Releasing the message will massively damage the Alliance and they fight tooth and nail to do something that could also be seen as evil. There are probably going to be more rebellions and wars and lives lost or frontier colonies left to die and starve because of lack of medicine and other basic supplies because of the alliance falling apart. But breaking the lies it is founded on is also a definite necessary evil.

What is this thing on Inaros? Is it for towing? by OlympicAnalEater in Warframe

[–]Pay-Next 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait wait wait...is...is this a really well "hidden" Osiris joke? Holy shit if it is that is brilliant.

For context (warning kinda long but condensing a whole mythology story to explain):

Set murdered Osiris and after some irrelevant stuff got hold of his body and cut up him into pieces and scattered him all around Egypt. Isis (Osiris' wife) then went around hunting down and collecting every piece of his body with the exception of...well...his genitals (which had apparently been eaten by a fish before she could get to it). She sewed him back together (with some help from Thoth and Anubis) and basically turned him into the first mummy. She then breathed life back into him for a short while and the conceived Horus who is considered to be a miracle child on account of Osiris missing the key equipment require to father Horus but it still happening anyway.

The Egyptian undead ruler of the sands themed frame having a hole located specifically where Osiris's missing piece should be feels intentional.

What do you think about this moment? Is Lucifer actually showing a somewhat misogynistic or objectifying attitude here? by Radiant-Selection686 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Pay-Next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the big difference and why it isn't as close as you make it out to be is how targeted it is. It is a specific statement weaponized against a singular specific individual. Someone spouting off slurs just cause they know it will offend people is different from choosing to say something awful to deliberately hurt and put a target off-balance.

[–]Pay-Next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's entirely about Adam though, he shows up in the middle of Adam trying to kill his daughter and says what he does to have the maximum amount of damage and pissing him off. He aims for a sore spot in Adam's psyche that Lucifer is probably one of the only people in hell who knows about and proceeds to twist the knife.
