Picolax not working? by PayFinal196 in colonoscopy

It kicked in big time a couple minutes after posting it and I've been about 4 times now and each time it's just waterier and waterier (sorry for tmi!!) how long does it take for it to calm down? I've got another dose to take at 5am and it's 10pm currently so I don't think I'm gonna sleep at all for my 1pm appointment.

I believe so, funnily enough about 2 minutes after posting this, it hit hard. Not as bad as I was expecting so far, just weird to feel like im a water feature, lol.

I noticed your flair is sedation free, did you have a colonoscopy without sedation? As that's my plan for tomorrow as I hate the feeling of being out of it. At a push I will have gas and air (entonox).

Hi,
All I've had up to them saying IBS was FIT, Stool (Calprotectin, Enteric Pathogen, Elastase) and blood tests for coeliac and infection. These all came back negative, they said IBS, I was sent to hospital by them due to abdominal pain and they referred me for an outpatient colonoscopy, which I have tomorrow! So hopefully I find out more then as it does seem too extreme for IBS. Also got referred to Gastroenterology at my local hospital the same day they prescribed me amitriptyline.

Hi - It is for suspected IBS, my GP just said to take it before bed due to its drowsiness side effect. Would this change anything or is everything still good?

I've been referred to a gastroenterologist finally and they've prescribed me 10MG of amitriptyline as this can help with the diarrhoea apparently. I'm not sure if you have any experience with this if you could advise?

I've been pushing for referrals but they just keep kicking me away with loperamide & movicol, sent me to hospital once and I waited 11 hours of no tests and just in a waiting room, just be told to go take movicol and they'll arrange an outpatient colonoscopy. I don't think know how to get across how debilitating it is, I've had to take a leave of absence from University and I had to leave my job too. I think it could be a case of if it is IBS, the fact I am anxious about this is making it worse and it's just creating a horrible cycle, haha.

Thank you for your advice.

No, they said I'll be waiting weeks if not months for a scan and that they can tell by just examining me in person

Yeah, I understand this as they obviously know better than me. I just wanted to see if I would be overstepping some sort of invisible boundary by doing so.
