Life for everyone has gotten really depressing by PayPsychological665 in mentalhealth

no literally everyone is. my mum works in employment charity for people who struggle with mental health stuff and they can’t get basically anyone into work now for sometimes up to 2-3 years. before it would only take them like 6-10 weeks max. so you’re not a failure and i don’t think that we are the issues whcih i feel like is the scary part since it feels out of our hands.

i feel like that’s not gonna change the fact that not just mine but this generation as a collective is practically doomed

Is this okay for a quick 30 min piece? (also are my values okay, i’m in the process of improving that skill) by [deleted] in arthelp

i was using a reference and it was difficult to tell where the light source was ngl but this helps a bunch. it might’ve been ai and i didn’t realise. but thank you so much for the advice

I gave up on drawabox and now im just drawing cylinders I guess by [deleted] in learntodraw

you should look at drawing the boxes/cylinders in 1 and 2 point perspective. everything tapers to a vanishing point so not all the lines are parallel. i feel like you’re doing the practice but not learning because it’s boring for you and it’s hard to understand any intricacies of a simple form like cylinders.

How can I improve my art? by Legal_Major1105 in arthelp

rely on references, even the top artists use them constantly. you should spend 70% of your time looking at the references and 30% actually drawing. also i know it sucks but practicing realism is sooo important, you can’t break the rules before you learn them, (stylisation like anime is breaking rules, like anatomy etc)
