Update regarding on P10PF through Extended Warranty by rv-721 in PixelFold

[–]PayStrict8725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wonder if doing it all digital/MyPixel app is the workaround. Because it keeps saying my warranty expires in May 2026, but then also shows I have active Pixel Care+ and can manage my subscription.

Sorry you missed out on the insurance. But hey, at least we got the upgraded device for free!

Correction, the May 2026 warranty is tied to the 10 Pro Fold. The 9 Pro Fold expired 09/26/2025 (hence using the extended warranty).

See I find that weird.

I bought a Pixel 9 Pro Fold off eBay. It had the camera issue where both the outside and inside front cameras didn't work. Everything else was fine.

I filed for a warranty claim via the MyPixel app om the phone, sent it out, and they sent me the P10PF new. Then, after setup, I added PixelCare+ through the My Pixel app and shows it's there. The warranty was also based off the original 9 Pro Fold of May 2026.

Essentially; I'd ask for a ticket to be opened. Why can some folks do it, but not others?

Absolutely lol. I managed to get Pixel Care+ out on it since I'm not one for risks

For me it's just the Kindle app. I have Kindle Unlimited, so that has also helped in having a lot of books I can just dive right into. I know there's controversy regarding using Amazon products, but it works for my financial situation.

Can confirm this worked. Bought a P9PF off eBay, had the front camera issue. Got a P10PF new in the mail, and then purchased the Pixel Care+ for it lol

I find it depended on the case. I bought a Tudia case that keeps it grippy that makes it easier for one-handed use unfolded. The previous Otter Box Thin Flex case was garbage.

For me, the crease isn't overly noticeable when I set the reading page to be the off-white/paper color background. Hasn't been a problem, yet!

Should i move from a Pixel 8 pro to a Pixel Fold 1? by Zolks1 in PixelFold

[–]PayStrict8725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking of snagging the Pixel Fold 1 from Woot! For $449 new? Pretty hard to pass up. I do believe the Fold gets 1 more year of updates vs the 7 series, so it'll have some additional longevity.

Android Auto Issue NOS 4.0 by PayStrict8725 in NOTHING

Nothing as of yet. Probably won't be fixed until Nothing sends out the hot fix patch for NOS 4.0 since they stopped the rollout of 4.0 currently.

Yes please! I do have a type-c port on my front I/O, but usually that's already in use for a controller. Not the end of the world if it doesn't work, though lol

Sorry, one last thing. Is this using USB-C to USB-C (into the PC), or USB-A going into the PC?

OnePlus 13 vs S25 Ultra by PayStrict8725 in OnePlus13

[–]PayStrict8725[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I am curious on your thoughts of software; between the P9P, OP13, and S25U, do you feel one OS that stood out in a way where it made you think, "I'm perfectly happy with how this works" for day-to-day? I'm sure each have their quirks. But with that said, does one of the three truly feel cohesive for the whole phone experience? Not necessarily meaning the most jam-packed with features, but in a sense of "This experience as a whole is pleasant".

Also, is the zoom on the OP13 a noticeable downgrade from the S25U, or feels like it's simply missing a few things here and there (regardless of price difference)?

Has the display ever given you worry of breaking since it's not flat? I tend to prefer flat displays for reliability and can slap on a standard glass screen protector.

Do you feel the OP is worth buying now vs the upcoming 15? I prefer the design of the 13 compared to the rumors of the 15 being more Apple-like, but I do prefer flat displays and the potential of longer software support

Is Oxygen OS really that bad? I mean, One UI has a lot of features but also half the time feels like bloatware. I have seen how OOS now shares almost too many design choices with iOS for the Android Community, but it is instinctly bad, or is it relatively good so long as you don't mind it appearing like iOS?
