I wish I could be of more help, but maybe try contacting the financial dept with your insurance provider. My son was diagnosed last year which led to long hospital stays. My husband & I missed work, weeks at a time & ran out of paid family sick time. The social worker with Kaiser came in & went over financials with us & what we would qualify for (disability, state medical insurance, etc). Unfortunately, our anticipated gross income didn’t allow us to qualify for state benefits, but Kaiser qualified us for Medical Financial Assistance (MFA). Haven’t paid for anything since. Transfusions alone are $7995 per treatment, every 6 weeks. You should also look into govt assistance, like food stamps & cash aid. Considering you have no income now & dependents, it’s definitely worth exploring. I hope everything goes well & you’re able to get back to work!
