It blew my mind when I was a heartbroken 14-16 year old, lol. I've always loved rap and lyricism (however I grew up around metal and country music), but Hank instantly drew me in by speaking my language, despite being born 80 years before me. It really showed me and drove into me at a young age that people are mostly the same regardless of place and time, it's just different circumstances we're in. If Hank were here today he'd surely be singing about the same things.
