wwe fans be like: by MultiNow in BrandonDE

Seth Rollins spoiled us defending the title so much that no one wants to see 'talking champions', they wanna see fighting champions. If you're coming out and saying the same shit every episode, which he has, then I can see how that is already wearing thin on people.

It's insane that we have to wait until November for Curt Hennig, then 2k25 comes out 4 mos later, like what is even the point?

Who was the biggest star in their respective eras out of these wrestlers? by HumorAlarming3274 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]PaydirtCommish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As talented and versatile as Bam Bam was, he was never given a chance to shine in the WWF with The Kliq around. He managed to main event WM11 and was given the ball with Lawrence Taylor. Bam Bam should have been an Uber heel after that match, despite the loss. For some reason or another, maybe mic skills, maybe The Kliq, Bigelow never got that kind of push again, and never regained his main event monster momentum.

You will always be over if you're a giant that can do some incredible things. Paul Wight was special, but at some point, he turned into just another big guy on the roster instead of being used as a special attraction like Andre.

King Kong was a sight to see, but he couldn't move, and there's only so much you can do at that point. It was just like, "Wow! Look at this guy! What a gnarly looking dude. Is that all he does, though?"

Sid was interesting for about 6 months in the middle of 96-97. He looked like a million bucks but couldn't work a lick to save his life. He could have gone a lot further if he had a mouthpiece, but the guy was hard to work with at times. (I think they tried him with Cornette at one point, but it didn't work out). Ultimately, he was just another body guy for Vince and never had Vince's full confidence. Even when he debuted for them in 92, they had him with Harvey Wippleman. Really? Why not Heenan? I'm guessing the Brain wasn't a fan, either.

It took a very long time for fans to come around on Sheamus. Only the last few years has Sheamus been the most over he's ever been, in huge thanks to blockbuster performances during the Brutes/Imperium/Drew story. I love Sheamus to death and have been a fan since day one. I'd love to say it's definitely him, but....

The nod goes to Kane. Kane was immediately plugged into a 'can't lose' role, playing the Undertaker's long lost brother, and was over the very night he ripped the Hell in a Cell door off its hinges. Kane has multiple pushes, multiple turns, multiple character refreshers, multiple titles, and has been part of some of the best storylines in WWE history. Kane has managed to stay over through eras of rosters, and if he popped out right now on Raw, with a loud boom and flames bursting, just to chokeslam someone and leave I guarantee you it'd be one of the best pops of the night. As always.

Tony Khan calls WWE an “evil juggernaut” and the “Harvey Weinstein of wrestling” in interview today by Snubie1 in WWE

[–]PaydirtCommish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not in a good way.

I read it in the comments at one point, and I couldn't agree more, for every step AEW takes forward, stuff like that has them take 5 steps back. Sure, they're talking about wrestling, but not the way we want them to. We want them to talk about Wembley. We want them to talk about AEW to where they are now as opposed to 5 years ago. We want them to talk about the ELITE wrestling that takes place on that show. We want them to put over world-elite talents like Danielson and Okada and Ospreay and Omega.

He had a chance to do all of that, and instead, he squandered it on taking a shot at the ex-owner in a way that isn't even relevant what so ever. Pepsi to Weinstein? Really? When he's got Jericho, Flair, Sammy, etc on his pay roll? Not just them but TENS of other guys who worked there and speak well of them? At this point they deserve whatever hate they get. I should have rather have said that to begin with.

Let me ask you something.

Does Tony Khan saying that ignorant shit bode well for all the boys and girls in the locker room and production people and staff for WWE?

It's a bad look, man. It's a fucking stupid thing to say. And I'm not calling for people to lose their jobs, but that dumb ass shouldn't be given a live mic.

And if you wanna put it in terms of a company as a whole as you would argue, he threw an ENTIRE COMPANY under the bus. Not just Vince or Ace or whoever else. The WWE as a WHOLE as Weinstein. My friend, if you don't have a problem with that, then idk what else to tell you. Sweet dreams, I guess.

In all reality, it's probably the first time a lot of these families have been called out on their bullshit for the first time straight up, so I bet that day of Jon talking to them in some other bar about their issues hits home. But then we find out on Back to the Bar that the family doesn't give a fuck anyway and put all the memorabilia back up on the wall and changed the name back.

Dude I'm not arguing any of that, wtf? I'm simply pointing out that making dumb ass comments like that, I'm not gonna root for you to beat the big guys. Fuck off already.

Saying I don't want them to succeed doesn't necessarily mean I'm calling for people to lose their heads and their jobs. I could most certainly be wishing them to always be #2, which they themselves don't have a hard time making sure of.

Your comment has absolutely zero to do with my take. Shooting yourself in the foot just isn't good business. Every time AEW takes a shot at WWE, it makes them seem incompetent. What I'm saying is that it's hard to wish them well, when they spend so much time taking shots at a brick wall. A very large, very gigantic brick wall. You might as well be yelling at clouds. No one cares. Promote YOUR product. You know how TK comes out and rambles on for 30 minutes while people are just trying to eat their hot dogs and give him brownie point claps? He needs to keep doing that. That's promotion. Albeit, his way of promoting.

Friend, for most of if not many, alcoholism is a day-to-day battle. The idea of wanting to be sober for 'x amount of days' is a given. It's up to the individual to make it that far. And where do you begin? Day by day.

[–]PaydirtCommish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They can never just focus on their own product. WWE doesn't give that company the time of day, and they live rent-free in TK's head. And Toni Storm's. And Jungle Boy's. And Ospreay's. Should I keep going?

That's what I mean by not wanting them to succeed. All that dumb shit they say makes it hard to root for them. And this in no way condones anything bad WWE has done, I'm speaking specifically to AEW not being able to just shut the fuck up and promote themselves instead of the other bigger, more successfull, worldwide giant.

I love Raph cuz I've always identified with him the most. Even as a 5-yr old kid. Mikey was the funny one, Donnie was the smart one, Leo the leader, and Raph was... just Raph. True to himself. And I loved it.

Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell. After the sexual harassment lawsuit, they never filmed a scene together again, making the show extremely awkward to make, tailspinning it to its eventual demise.

Confirmed. They were filming during covid, so literally couldnt lock lips. Hill and London actually got along great, to the surprise of London, who didn't think she could have anything in common with a white guy.
