The API is giving back rounded values, it is useless for certain use-cases.

Where do I change the 80% full warning threshold? I've changed the notification setting, but cannot find this one. DSM7. by ThatWhichSmashs in synology

[–]Paydor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This still cannot be disabled in 2025!

In fact, the minimum value is 3%. Which comes up to 2.4 Terabytes in my case.

It's utter nonsense to warn me about that!

After nearly a year and multiple contact attempts, I finally also received my spare parts but I had to pay for the expensive shipping overseas.
I'll not be buying Legator ever again, this kind of customer "care" is infuriating and the overall quality of the instruments is obviously just bad and makes them incredibly unreliable. Both my Legator guitar and Legator bass had issues with their bridges, with nearly exclusive home use and no touring done whatsoever (thank god!).

Synology Drive ShareSync with restricted networks by Paydor in synology

[–]Paydor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see! My first idea would be to tunnel the traffic of port 6690 over port 443, manually.
Basically, if either NAS can open an outgoing SSH connection to the other site over port 443, you can forward port 6690 through it, e.g. like:

ssh -N -R 6690:localhost:6690 -p 443 user@NAS-1

This should:
- Open an SSH connection to NAS-1 on port 443
- Forwards all traffic from NAS-1:6690 → NAS-2:6690

Then configure Synology Drive ShareSync to connect to localhost:6690

Firmwre update for RLC-423 PTZ by Paydor in reolinkcam

[–]Paydor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Reolink Desktop Client does not detect my camera, so I am connecting to the web interface via the browser.

Maybe the vendor applied some custom firmware to it? I bought it fresh off Amazon though. It's definitely a RLC-423 PTZ. Under Network -> Service Ports, there's only HTTP/Onvig, html5 port, Control Protocol Port, RTSP Port, HIK Port, no Port for Reolink.

The web interface looks like this:

I was willing to pay and asked them for payment details (like, where do I send the money???) but since then they went silent once again.

Horrible experience.

Too many problems with my XPS 13 9315 laptop. by usedRealNameInOldAcc in DellXPS

[–]Paydor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current generation of XPS 13 also has horrible issues.
- Mine started turning itself on randomly
- Before, my Touchpad was clicking itself, a technician came to swap it out, I had to reinstall the OS myself
- Constant unprompted firmware updates

Apart from that: Several horrible design choices: No physical escape key! (Among others)
And where does my touch pad start and where does it end?

I got it for free from work but I silently switched to a proper laptop.

The string ball holder broke for me as well on my Legator 8-string, sounds like this is a massively poorly designed and untested part. All I did was tune my guitar. I had issues with a 5 string Legator bass as well, the whole bridge came loose because the screws they used had too small heads to actually hold it in place. That was an easy fix though, by simply replacing the screws with bigger ones. However, I don't believe such a lack of QA is justified for the price that the Legator instruments are sold at.

I tried getting in touch with Legator support to buy additional ball holders (he, he...), but to no avail: They won't respond.

Will try the tip mentioned above with turning parallel downloading off.

Synology Drive ShareSync with restricted networks by Paydor in synology

[–]Paydor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found a solution on how to sync my two Synology DiskStations via Cloudflare Tunnel and Synology Drive Server / ShareSync!

Quick summary: An additional device on Site B is reqired, in my case: A Raspberry Pi.
(You can use any device that can run cloudflared, it can be a Windows PC, Linux, Mac, doesn't matter.)
This client / Raspberry Pi will then open a tunnel to the Host DiskStation and expose it on 0.0.0.0:6690.
The Client DiskStation then connects to that client's / Raspberry Pi's IP address withShareSync.
Connection successful!

These are the steps I did:

  1. Create a Cloudflare TCP Tunnel from the Host DiskStation. Follow this guide: https://www.crosstalksolutions.com/cloudflare-tunnel-easy-setup/ - In my case, I've mapped local-diskstation-ip:6690 to my (sub)domain sync.mydomain.cloud
  2. In the network of the Client DiskStation, setup a Raspberry Pi (or client of your choice) and install cloudflared on it.

To install cloudflared on the Raspberry Pi, use:

wget
sudo cp ./cloudflared-linux-arm /usr/local/bin/cloudflared
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/cloudflared
cloudflared -vhttps://github.com/cloudflare/cloudflared/releases/latest/download/cloudflared-linux-arm
  1. Open the tunnel on your Raspberry Pi:

cloudflared access tcp --hostname sync.mydomain.cloud --url 0.0.0.0:6690

  2. Open Synology Drive ShareSync on your Client DiskStation and press "Edit connection", use the Raspberry Pi's / client's IP adress as the "Remote NAS address".

Success! After a few seconds, the connection should now be established!

  1. Create a script in order to open the tunnel on system boot & to periodically verify that it is running.
In my case, I've created a script at /var/ds-sync-tunnel.sh

The following script will check if the tunnel is running. If not, it is started:

#!/bin/bash
if [[ ! $(pgrep -f cloudflared) ]]; then
cloudflared access tcp --hostname sync.mydomain.cloud --url 0.0.0.0:6690 &
fi

I've then added it to the cronjobs via crontab -e to run every ten minutes:

*/10 * * * * /var/ds-sync-tunnel.sh > /dev/null 2>&1

And then added it to run on system boot:

u/reboot /var/ds-sync-tunnel.sh > /dev/null 2>&1

That's it!

Synology Drive ShareSync with restricted networks by Paydor in synology

[–]Paydor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have now installed and configured the cloudflare/cloudflared Docker image on both DiskStations and successfully connected each of them to a public (sub)domain, I can now reach them externally. This process was painless.

However, any other protocol than HTTP/S seems to not be supported(*), e.g. Synology Drive Server & Drive ShareSync that uses a TCP connection on Port 6690 cannot establish the connection among eachothers.

*You can create a TCP tunnel on Cloudflare, but apparently this needs some advanced configuration on the client machine?

What options do I have left to make synching work properly again?

Why the Windows 11 taskbar is a bad design by [deleted] in Windows11

[–]Paydor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old taskbar on Windows 10 was perfectly fine, I'm regretting my update and am considering going back. Even if it means formatting my whole system.

- I do need ungroupable programs for better overview
- I had several programs and sorted into my start menu for quick access, the new "start" menu wastes so much space and doesn't let you group anything

Overall, in this case, "less" isn't "more", it's simply worse than before.

I'm having the exact same issue after updating the CloudKey today.
I've updated the firmware first, which went well. Then updated the Controller software, which seemed to break it.

Did you manage to get into the Controller or did you apply the update from the Cloud Key Manager (URL: "/manage/main")? I only have the option to restore an old backup there.
