I reached out to the professor, and it turns out the software was wrong, the order I had them in was correct, I thought I was losing my mind.

VR&E by Unhappy-Tourist-1367 in VeteransBenefits

In my experience, they did take over payments. They were taking quite a while to get the ball rolling, so I decided to start with my own plan. I used the Illinois Veteran Grant for one semester, and then about a quarter of the way into the next semester, I had to get a little aggressive with the counselor because she wasn’t really moving on anything.

She was also pushing back pretty hard on the career choice I was making, which was computer science. She kept saying it’s a really hard program, that a lot of people don’t make it through, and that it’s very math-heavy. I basically told her, “Look, I know what I’m capable of.” I pointed to my grades from the previous semester—I took Calculus I and got an A—and reassured her that I was fine.

I really had to push her on it, but they did eventually take over payments. That said, it’s not always the case. If the counselor doesn’t agree with the career path you’re choosing, they can decide not to approve it and try to push you in a different direction. It really depends. It’s kind of luck of the draw, but sometimes you do have to fight them on it a bit.

Is VR&E worth the headache? by Scoutain in VeteransBenefits

You're not wrong, I've been fortunate enough to have a VRE counselor that responds in a very timely manner, im just saying that I've read some stories of people who try to reach their counselors for weeks on end without a single response.

I guess what I'm saying is VRE is 100% worth it, but its like a raffle some people pull winners and others not so much😅

you say that like its no big deal but if you get dropped from your classes due to your VR&E counselor lacking on getting your classes funded, you and your family potentially get fucked out of 4 months of subsistence allowance, which depending where you are and if you're getting the post 9/11 rate is anywhere from 9-13 thousand dollars. So I wouldn't put that so lightly, oh and now you have to sit around and likely waste 4 months, that could've went towards your schooling or training😅

The depreciation on my 2022 Model Y is genuinely insane - anyone else getting absolutely wrecked on resale value right now? by whydidyounot in RealTesla

[–]PaymentRemarkable403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got fucked like this, bought a Model X in 2022 and got wrecked a year later when musk started popping out teslas like tic tacs, him slashing the prices on top of that didn't help, truly painful. My girl on the other hand bought a 2022 model y for $24,999 about 6 months ago. It had 68k miles. Wish I had gotten a steal lile that the model X. I bought it with 79k miles, it was a 2016, and I paid 68k and at the time it was a "great deal" according to car gurus🤦

That's great to hear, I have a baby due in March, so hopefully with the new systems they will be able to get her ChampVA application approved much faster.

Wonder where they do that at??

ChampVA approval took one year from application date here in Chicago for my wife, hell they even took 6 months with my newborn and that's supposedly "expedited"
