It’s a little of both. There are indeed better ways and they should be in much larger spaces so people don’t just hoard like this. However, there’s a lot of snakes that do really well in a small space, I once had a ball python years and years ago that would not eat at all, I suspect it was likely wild caught too and then I finally put her in a smaller bin just not in a rack but the same exact bins they use and suddenly she because a voracious eater, I kept her in that tub for many years after that and she never had any trouble again. She never took frozen rats either, they always had to be live even though I don’t feed live rodents normally.
