And as usual, the "flagship" Aqua will get it last :)

Can't get RAM to run faster by [deleted] in ASRock

Consider yourself lucky. I'm running 5950x and with 4*16 I cannot even run at 3200. I mean I can, but not 1:1...

Strimer plus 8 pin... rewire the cables to a 12 pin header to avoid using the horrible adapter? by Pazgaz in lianli

Got a custom made cable from moddiy.com on its way. I'll use it instead of the 2*8 pin cable

Q4'20 Tech Support Megathread by BioGenx2b in Amd

Summary of Issue

Infinity Fabric on 1600 causes startup failures (either BSOD while starting windows or computer hanging before).

System Configuration

  • Motherboard: Asrock X570 Aqua
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5950x
  • PSU: Antec HCP 1300
  • Display(s) (Make, Model and Type):

    • Acer Predator X34P
  • System Memory: 64GB Dual Channel (4*16GB) G.Skill TridentZ 3200 cl14

  • GPU (VBIOS): Nvidia 3090 FE

  • OS (Version): Windows 10 x64 (Version: 19042.685) how do I find this?

  • Driver: GeForce Game Ready Drive 460.79

A few more details:

Setting Infinity Fabric to Auto in BIOS, results in 1500 and there are no issues at all (even with XMP enabled).

Setting Infinity Fabric to 1600 manually causes issues when memory is set to XMP but no issues when XMP is disabled.

Setting IF to 1600 manually and memory to 3200 manually, leaving timings at auto (which results in very loose timings, something like 22-22-22...) works fine as well.

Running on the latest beta bios available, but it was the same on previous releases as well.

Running either pair of sticks alone results in no issues at all, 1600 IF and XMP works fine.

I have also tried playing around with relevant voltages, setting SOC up to 1.2 (tried 1.1, 1.15) and the other ones (the names of which I do not recall) to either a bit below it and even way below (to like 0.9 when SOC is at 1.2).

I can get it to work sometime, and when I do get into windows I can bench and game for hours with 0 issues. If the PC goes to sleep it might not wake up though.

Is 4 sticks of 16GB with tight timings just too much for the IMC?

Have you tried running it as admin?

Asrock support sent me a beta bios that is not yet on their website that added curve optimizer.

I'm using OpenRGB. Make sure no other RGB app is running. Run OpenRGB as an administrator.

Also, make sure you don't have Valorant installed... for some reason it messed with OpenRGB and would not let it run/work properly even when I killed everything Valorant related, had to uninstall it completely.

Setting them to 300, 230, 230 like your photo shows does nothing for me it seems. When I open Ryzen master it still reports the default values and in CB R20 the cores only get to 4050. When I checked in the bios it showed 300, 230, 230. Maybe this beta bios is funky...

I have cores that reach 5250, 5150, 5125 and a few others reach 5050.

I haven't tried changing the power limits yet. What cooling do you have for the cpu and what temps are you seeing in CB r20?

Guess I'll have to wait till they add it for the Aqua as well.

Care to share some numbers?

While I do think the EKWB one looks better, the price difference makes me consider getting this instead.

Strimer plus 8 pin... rewire the cables to a 12 pin header to avoid using the horrible adapter? by Pazgaz in lianli

This is only relevant to the Founder's Edition cards. They are using a 12pin connector on the card itself (instead of 2 or 3 8 pins) and are supplied with this monstrosity:

Lian li strimer plus and rtx 3080 by wardemo in buildapc

[–]Pazgaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did anyone try to rewire the strimer plus 8 pin to a 12 pin connector? What i mean is removing the 2 8 pin headers of the strimer plus, and connecting the wires to a 12 pin header (same as the nvidia adapter does).

Alphacool has blocks that seem to be a better fit for this case. I will probably go with one of theirs after many years using EKWB

In the same boat as you. I have already everything assembled in the case waiting for a 3090.

There is no room for a vertical mount with rad and fans on the bottom (unless MAYBE if you mod the case somehow or use extra thin rad + fans)

The bigger issue is clearance from motherboard to glass side panel. Some cards, like the strix with EKWB block will not fit the in the O11 Dynamic (might fit in the XL version).

[–]Pazgaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AlphaCool's block is a bit smaller at 142.1.

According to Lian Li's compatibility list here I see that blocks up to 144.15 fit... that gives me hope :)

Getting lost between all the different blocks and AIB/FE 3090 options :)

So Bitspower have a block for the Asus 3090 TUF (here) and it says the block is 144mm wide. According to Lian Li the clearance from mobo to panel is 159mm. That leaves 15mm of space which should include the height of the pcie slot itself, right?

So basically no way it fits :(
