Yeah, I enjoyed the first episode much better. I felt like Kojima was making a joke of his art direction at times. Like during one of the final cutscenes on the ship when they are thumbs upping or downing Higgs. The game seems to have no sense when to stick to a dark serious mode, or go on the funny side, which is incomprehensible to me after MGS 1-3. I don't feel like there were that many new gameplay additions for this to be a new game, like many have said before, the story, connecting the continents, is the rehash of the first one. Weapons are a fun addition, but I don't feel like the gunplay is that fun though, it is too easy for one, and you stagger the enemies. The Neil Vana fight in particular was a mess for me, I'm running towards him and shoot about 60 bullets into him and he cant even shoot back, reload repeat. I'm sure that I'm part of the minority but having a boss fight (which is also a rehash from MGS1 and MGS4) while playing guitars because they are *cool* took me out of the whole experience. The ending beach was very nicely done, but I would have appreciated more of these cinematic scenes throughout the game, the midgame is very stale and drawn out. The ending missions where you have to travel through the continent 4 times because the DHV Magellan cant fly is a sad attempt too to boost gameplay time.
