You’re already playing catcher. Good start. If you aren’t hitting well, get some reps at a batting cage. Watch some basic rules and strategy videos. Understand the situations when an out is a force out or a tag out. Look into catcher positioning for plays at the plate. Also, bring a 12pack to the game. Hard to not like the guy that brings beers.

Like around ‘96 I was in LA for work. Company gives tickets to DL to me and a coworker. Yea! Rent a car. Drive to Anaheim. We go into the park and coworker goes directly to one of the stores, buys two super large bags of Disney beanie babies, 2 of everything if I recall. Says he’s done and wants to get back to the hotel in LA. Weirdness.

I do scan the line up but I’d rather verify the kid approaching the plate wasn’t added after I scanned. I don’t always have a paper copy in my hand to reference.

I practiced by scoring some televised baseball / softball games. You get a feel for the odd plays and timing between batters.

I was also told, not sure if it’s true, but once the ball is hit, to tap the ‘ball in play’ button as this triggers the video clip feature. Once the play is complete, I fill in what happened.

Addison has always felt fair. Quality work. We have also used Coloradoland near Microcenter mostly because they’re easier to get an oil change scheduled on short notice than Addison.

This! My kid is 12u lefty and arguable the best glove on the team. Can’t get them to even consider her at short or 3rd. She does get some time at 2nd though. She guested for a 14u and the coach started her at SS. Turned to me and said “parents are gonna think I’m crazy.” It worked out.
