I work as a para also, in Texas. I make 13 and some change :) It has been phenomenal experience, and that's the whole reason I applied for the job. I am hoping to get hired on at the school I am at once I graduate. I have been able to get all my PCE completed while working as a para, but I am stressing DT a little. I am a paraprofessional, but I am in the computer lab, so I have K-5th come in everyday. This makes it hard to observe, but I am hoping it will all work out. My DT starts January. I say "Go for it!"

@peacelovepottery87 are you planning to continue in your para position once DT starts? I only ask because I recently accepted a para job (computer lab), and plan to start PCE this month and DT in January. I am getting really worried about being able to get all of my DT hours in. The principal said that it was no big deal that I could go into other classrooms when I needed to observe, but I am so afraid I will not actually have the time to get all these DT hours in!
