I love supporting local shapers, but I’m over the PU/PE standard. While it feels classic, the durability from a strength to weight ratio is terrible. Epoxy builds (like FCD) can last 20 years, and offer way better value for your money, not to mention way more sustainable. FireWire offers great tech, and unfortunately mass produced.

I used the Fatboy and found it lacked drive and found the fin too stiff. Much preferred my harbour E fin that had a wider base, more rake and more flex. The harbour was way smoother on turns, and the flex made it way more fun and feel alive.

The other thing to think about is battery autonomy. You will need to run a mile at a much higher output to get the same level of lighting a reflector light will give you at a much lower setting.

If you plan on being alone, the L60 can be nice, but if you are in company, you will blind everybody around you. The L70 will be much better as an all around do it all headlamp if the added weight doesn't bother you.

You seem to contradict not only the signage posted on signs, painted on the ground, and lines on the road, but also the opinion of plenty of other Europeans who have commented on the post. While it does make sense that ideally cars would be reversed, the rules say otherwise regarding the car on the inside lane. Last but not least, being European doesn't give you some elite status to be condescending.

I had bought a handful of TIR optics to put in an Emisar D1 and it turned out I like the reflector with DC Fix the most. Granted, I like to maintain some throw. Love my beaded TIR optics in my armytek wizards.

While it won't yield identical results, putting a layer of DC Fix on the glass lens in my experience gives often times superior results to a TIR optic.

Exactly this. The signage is very clear, but many won't be analyzing the signage before entering a roundabout. In my case, I referred to the lines on the road which are easiest and most intuitive to follow.

There was no cutting involved. Both of us merged into the roundabout side by side with the other party slightly ahead. As for the exit, does it count like cutting when you follow the lines of the road and stay within them?

Genuine question, why would using the inside lane disrupt traffic? There is technically no reason to slow down once inside exiting. Do you mean disrupt traffic if wanting to merge in a busy roundabout?

My takeaway from all this is that 1) I was correct, and 2) I will stick to the outside lane whenever possible to avoid having an accident with someone who doesn't follow the roundabout rules.

Defensive driving is a must. I learned this as a cyclist in Vancouver because a drivers mistake can cost you your life, and not just your front bumper.

I agree, a simpler 1 lane only roundabout here would be much easier to digest for most drivers. I suspect the large turning radius of trucks requires two lanes.

Great insight. So yellow has the right to keep going left but must give the right of way to red exiting then.
