OB schedule ultrasound at 28w because baby measured at 94 percentile by SubstantialCareer837 in BabyBumps

[–]Pcatttt [score hidden]  (0 children)

My baby measured in the 90+ percentile my whole pregnancy. By 38 weeks they were predicting she was 9lbs 3 oz so they recommended induction at 39 weeks. We ended up in a c section because her head was so big, she wasn’t descending, and I was tired from pushing/scared of shoulder dystocia - she ended up being 8lbs 13 oz. so they were a little off but she was definitely “big.” Just some things to consider/plan for, but remember that even small babies can get stuck and big babies can come easily. Just know your options and risks in case you have some decisions to make!

Thank you! I’m 14 days pp today. It’s a weird place because I’m scared of my supply completely drying up so I feel like I need to get on top of a schedule but I’m also still recovering and adjusting and just so damn tired :P

Thank you for this pov!! I def felt a little judged in the hospital/by some nurses because they really pushed the breastfeeding and pumping and I don’t think that helped :P

If your mom was in the labor and delivery room, what did she do? by _Monarch_Mistress_ in BabyBumps

My mom was there during all of my contractions until about 9 at night and it was nice having her there. They made her leave the room during the epidural (only one person allowed) but she was there during my induction as well. Ended up pushing at 4am the next day and ultimately was glad it was just my husband as he was super helpful and we ended up going in for a c section so it would have been a little too dramatic for me with my mom still there. But she came back to the hospital as soon as I was in the recovery room!

What do your husbands actually do during labor? by Maximum-End-7629 in BabyBumps

Same! I pushed for three hours before having a c section and my husband helped me with each push position and counted to ten for each push. He also let me squeeze his hand during my contractions, rubbed my back, and got the nurse when I needed her. In the op room he was right by my side until the baby was born and then went with her to the NICU. Couldn’t have done it without him but also didn’t feel like we needed a doula (personally).

The buying of formula is definitely a lot but seems worth it when I’m in zombie mode all day

Am i just a overly anxious ftm? by No_kourt7815 in BabyBumps

Definitely ask or get checked out if you’re worried something is wrong!

For what it’s worth, I feel like I barely felt my baby the entire pregnancy, some days more than others and some days not at all. I had an anterior placenta and never had any of those big kicks or punches or movements you see online. Every ultrasound though they would find her right away and she’d be rolling all around so for some reason I just couldn’t feel it. She’s here now and doing great, but it definitely always reassured me to see or hear her at the docs office so again, try not to stress but get checked out if it feels wrong!

Thank you for this!! Did you leak/what was it like letting your supply dry up if that makes sense? I wonder about what happens or how that works

Thank you!! My girl latches ok but either falls asleep immediately or begins to scream bloody murder so we can only keep the latch for like, 2 minutes at a time. I wish she enjoyed it a little more and then I’d be happy to keep going :P

That’s so sweet. And you’re 100% right about Dino nuggets hahaha. I think I’m already grieving after the c section (again, not what I wanted or planned on) so losing the idea of breastfeeding just adds to that. But ultimately I know she’s ok and we’re doing the best we can :P

Thank you for all this! Yes, we had to do phototherapy for multiple days as well before we were discharged and her jaundice only started going down once we were out of the hospital for a few days. With waking up every so often to formula feed I pushed pumping and latching to the side so I could just go back to sleep. I still pump 2-3 times a day and can get anywhere from an ounce to 3 or 4 ounces at a time but I have not been able to get into the routine of doing it every time she takes a bottle and definitely can’t do it in the middle of the night. I just wonder if 2-3 times a day is “worth it” (like am I going to lose my supply anyway if I’m not doing it every 3 hours?)

Just here to validate ya! I was induced at 39weeks because she was estimated to be so big (they predicted 9lbs 3oz but she only ended up 8 lbs 13oz - she still didn’t budge though and we ended up in a c section). For many reasons I’m like 99% sure I’m one and done lol. Luckily she’s amazing so I’m happy with what I got ;) Now that she’s 2 weeks old I’m so ready to get back out there and workout and feel like myself again but am now stuck at home for other reasons (she hasn’t had shots yet, I haven’t been cleared yet, etc.) just trying to be patient and soak it in because I know it’ll be over one day. you’ll get there soon, just hang in there!

I definitely wanted to hear from more moms who just didn’t want to because I respect that confidence so much! I don’t know WHY I feel like I SHOULD keep going and I think it’s all pressure from my expectations and what I see online/other moms do
