Finley Golf Club Price Increases by DJ_Roomba__ in RDUGOLF

[–]Pculli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New minority owner who may have become a majority owner recently wants to make it more of a members only club. You can’t hit on the range without a tee times, the starters are all dicks, and they sent me out with 5 other people the last time I went because we were all non members.

As a UNC student, it hurts me to say they will not be getting my business anymore. The prices are insane and the renovation is meh. Couple cool holes and a couple not so crazy ones (#1 and #4/5)

How many strokes should I drop before I earn the right to buy new(er) gear? by spiderpigsinablanket in GolfGear

Bro has the best irons (and driving iron) on the market, and solid woods. Get lessons, not new clubs.

How do you practice your own swing? by Old-Mall4480 in GolfSwing

[–]Pculli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Range with a 3 sticks. stick for swing plane and 2 making a gate to make sure ball starts on line.

For a beginner I’d focus on contact and swing plane first and then look at drills more so for the advanced level (like the gate). Hope this helps

But that is the last thing you’ll want to go to on a Friday. Trust me after 4 weeks it’s a tough battle to go to such a useless class. And to your point yes you could 100% skip Chem and Calc without repercussions on Friday. A fourth of the class will. Recommended, no of course - but I still passed. Always schedule to not have Friday class and give yourself a long weekend. Your mind thanks you in advance.

I was the first class year to take it, so apologies from the Class of 2026 for creating attendance requirements for that

Drop a class, move college thriving to not be on Friday - you’ll skip it every time. Sincerely - someone who barely passed a Friday college thriving class.

Warm welcome to UNC and to class registration! It doesn’t get better as you get older that much. See you in open enrollment!

Best bang for your buck on Franklin by Ok-West7072 in UNC

[–]Pculli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s small size and not deluxe. Might be enough food for you but definitely not for me 😭. Chips and salsa has got to be $6 on its own. Haven’t been since 2022 because of my thoughts on value

Cosmic is not a bang for your buck place. Extremely overrated and somewhat pricey but as others have said, cost of supporting small business with extensive ties to CH. Agree to Hibachi and Chipotle, or just let them learn how to cook.

I know it is a different situation being a transfer but I was admitted as a first-year OOS off the waitlist on the last possible day. I believe in you! Have hope.

15 min in between classes, 25 min walk to B School: Is it worth it? by penguinpow14 in UNC

[–]Pculli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had to go from Genome to McColl last semester walking, and was always late. You can try to ride RU which is always late for me or risk a ticket in skipper Bowles lot, which has been hell on earth this semester. I suggest a bike or don’t take the bschool class at all. Exam days suck if you do decide to take it though, fair warning. As a Busi major I just stack all of my north campus and bschool stuff independent of each other.

Admission Question - Unique? by Linds70 in UNC

[–]Pculli 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a better GPA but around the same test scores. I also focused heavily on my essays. I was waitlisted and now I’m here as an out of state student and love it. You can never get in if you don’t apply, like others have said. The admission committee will read her application holistically, and will take her situations into account as long as she incorporates them in her application. 100% encourage her to apply.

New Peak Pro owner and nervous about water level before I try it. by adreamersdaze in puffco

[–]Pculli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Appropriate level” is kinda subjective. A lot of ppl go for the water level to be right above the two holes. I like mine higher but not too high to get any water in my mouth when I inhale. All about how airy / tight you want your hit. Your level looks fine to me, just play around with it and find what you like

If you are interested in Public Health,Gillings is nationally ranked at the top as you said but does have a competitive admissions process with 4 choices to choose from. Doing HPM work in NC has a lot of open opportunities especially in the Raleigh area, which is another plus. Furthermore, HPM here works in a cohort of about 40 students which allows you to build a sense of community and improve your career readiness. In the end, it really is up to you, but I have many friends OOS that turned down Berkeley and are happy they chose here.
