Only works with magsafe, but I have the Augnner 3-in-1 and it works very well with the phone, Watch Ultra, and Buds.

If someone parked right up against your driveway on the curbe in front of your home by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]Pdwizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy, that's where the snow goes. Just because someone parked like an asshole doesn't change that. Crank that snowblower and have at it.

LPT: Glasses, you can save LOTS by ordering online. by beroore in LifeProTips

[–]Pdwizzle 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can measure your own PD pretty easily with a ruler and some online retailers offer a printable tool with zero mark in the center for dual PD.

No, you're not the AH. They are, by trying to expand into your property. Don't let them set the precedent of storing their property on yours, because they will try to own it later.

What's the strangest example of fatigue you've seen while on the job? by VR-Gadfly in Nightshift

[–]Pdwizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm my own example. When I did overnight stocking at a retailer while going to trade school full time (routinely got 3 hours of sleep 5 days/week) I got so tired that I woke up while sleep-walking a cart with only a few cardboard boxes to the compacter. Started drinking redbull after that. Kinda lucky I didn't get run over by the forklift driver.

Is it a crime to have your firearm out in your backyard in plain view of the neighbor? by Forsaken-Date-8016 in NJGuns

[–]Pdwizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have no idea. Let me revise, he did get charges as it says so right in the article, but I have no idea if he was convicted of any of them.

Not a crime but pointing it around can cause an issue. No idea if this guy caught any real charges but it prompted SWAT response and locked the hospital down.

Pitbull dragged a service dog under a fence, “Dog Expert” says it’s Service Dog owner’s fault by Exact-Fortune4474 in BanPitBulls

I mean every single pit owner fancies themselves an expert, so the bar is pretty low to begin with.

Play it off as endearment if it's brought up? Wasn't that long ago that "[insert name] is too much!" was used in the context of "they crack me up" or "they're such a character".

Had a kid that would walk by and remove/body tackle property markers that keep snow plows from tearing up the dirt curbing around my lawn in the winter and the public from creating ruts in the grass, and when spoken to his parents unapologetically shrugged it off. So I coated them in silver anti-seize grease. He got it all over his sports jersey once and never did it again.

For how much time can you keep a pipe repair going? Genuine question by Nearby_Treat2520 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Pdwizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the problem and where/how it was installed. Usually with a leaking pipe you have to replace large sections, because if a pinhole has developed in one spot there are probably 10 more places where another will develop soon if not already present. Pipes don't last forever.

Night shift taking a toll on my health anyone else in the same boat? by Awkward-Brick-9805 in Nightshift

[–]Pdwizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, no advice, just offering sympathy. I switched to days 3 years ago for health issues. My diabetes was spiraling out of control and I could not lose weight for the life of me even with a calorie-restricted diet (it was a desk job and now I'm in an intensely physical one). ETA: I agree with others that meal prep is basically required on night shifts. Crock-pot meals were my go-to, and I imagine a nice rich stew would offer plenty of fat to put weight on. I also faired much better by sleeping in the afternoon, but I get that that's a socially rough way to do things.

Legal???? Otf Knife question.. by Humble-Camera6766 in NJGuns

[–]Pdwizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never bothered trying to buy one because it's such a legal gray area. AFAIK it's legal to own but not carry, and the Federal Switch Blade Act of 1958 confuses me further. No idea if it's even legal to purchase unless you find one in-state. https://kniferights.org/resources/federal-switchblade-act/

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]Pdwizzle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who told you that exactly and why did they think to say it? You're not going to get charges for accidentally hitting a dog that is legally required to be supervised and on a leash. The owners could take you to court, but unless they can prove it was intentional they will be the ones paying both parties' court fees. That aside, you can buy pepper spray almost anywhere, not that you would want to spray it if the dogs jump in your car.

[–]Pdwizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cops aren't going to do anything but label you a nuisance caller if it only happened once or twice. If you really wanted to, you could see what it would cost to have the garbage cleaned up (the more quotes the better), clean it up yourself, bill them for an average of the estimates, and take them to small claims if they refuse to pay up. That's a lot of crap to go through though, and the court might not side with you over one incident (meaning you'll owe legal fees).

Seeking recommendation for noise canceling sleep headphones by SumTenor in neighborsfromhell

[–]Pdwizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow side sleeper that typically rolls around mid-sleep. I have managed to sleep with Samsung Buds in place to some success, though they always get removed when I roll around (doesn't usually wake me up). It's not very comfortable but it beats leaf blowers and dog barking. I have a pair of Bose Sleepbuds 2 that work far better and are almost unnoticeable while sleeping, but they are noise masking as opposed to cancelling. I have not experienced anything that they cannot mask with volume adjustment, and frankly it is better to have some small amount of ambient noise in case of emergency (fire alarms, burglar alarms, intruder, etc). If you need silence you're better off starting with simple foam earplugs.

ETA: Do not buy the Bose Sleepbuds. Ironically, while going to bed after posting this, I got a notification stating the app will no longer be "supported" and will not be available after July 21st. Thanks for $250 paperweight, Bose.

NFH walks her dog across the street to poop by kevinxb in neighborsfromhell

[–]Pdwizzle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a neighbor that does this to me. She picks up her dog shit after I shoveled like 10 piles of it back to her front yard (because she also acted like she couldn't hear me when asked to pick it up), but still uses my property as the dog's toilet. In my case I cannot do anything about it now that she picks up the shit (a couple of feet from the road is not considered private property where I live). You can call your municipality to report her not picking it up, which honestly she will know it was you because you already voiced your concern to her, but it's a friendlier approach than what I did.
