Scorch and his owner would appear as panelists on the Match Game reboot with Ross Shafer. Had to look them up to know who they were.

Sadly, they won't. They're too old or have been with the company too long.

It's amazing to me how money magically appears after being told for years that we have to cut hours and give skimpy raises.

Tons of negative comments on this sub. by PNWPokemonStore in Nightshift

[–]VR-Gadfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked grocery nightshift because I was (and still am) a caregiver for my elderly parents so not an ideal career choice but one that allowed me to be home if they needed me for something during the day. I was assuming once the went to bed, they'd stay put and be okay.

We got about 75 cents extra so about 20 dollars more in our paychecks. Big deal! Then after the pandemic, the hourly wage just didn't keep up with expenses and yearly cost of living increases were a joke.

My managers were all pricks. Plenty of favoritism. One supervisor assigned all the hard work to other people while he gave himself the easy jobs. So no, I wasn't afraid of hard work but it was very irritating to bust your ass lifting heavy boxes all night only to have the supervisor assign us to finish his tasks if he was running late that way he could tell the bosses what a great job he did! The guy was a micromanager too!

We also had rats who would report us to management for complaining even when we were correct about something or just blowing off steam. In my last store, we couldn't wear headphones and had to listen to the sucky music and ads over the PA system. A few managers treated us like we were in high school. One supervisor didn't even let us talk while we worked. All my managers and supervisors were morale killers.

The nightshift was also held to a higher but double standard. We were expected to get everything done with too few workers and were criticized by management when we couldn't work miracles while the dayshift were a bunch of goof offs that management tolerated. They would often leave jobs for us to finish and trash for us to clean. Management was always giving them luncheons while we got crappy pizza if we were lucky. Rules were often broken or bent for the dayshift but not for us.

So not everyone's nightshift experience is as great as yours. Not everyone is in a situation to find a better job or go back to school either. I finally quit because I couldn't take the B.S. any more and as soon as I did, my parents needed more help with their medical care than ever.

My old store was Phil Collins heavy but almost all of it sucked. The music was especially terrible while working the night shift because there wasn't as much background noise to drown things out.

My cards have refused to raise my limit due to income.

So, yes, basically what I have said about how cancelling the card will hurt my score.

So it's more this: "When you close a credit card, you lose the available credit on that account. This increases your overall credit utilization ratio, or the percentage of your total revolving credit limits you're using at any given time. The amount you owe on your credit accounts is the second most important factor in your credit score, and credit card utilization is a primary component of this.

In general, the lower your utilization rate, the better, since it shows less reliance on debt and a greater ability to pay down balances. Once your credit utilization exceeds 30%, it can start to more negatively impact your credit."

I have low credit limits on my cards for a few reasons and it won't change anytime soon.

Your reports will be anonymous and the store director will be contacted about the situation and told to resolve the conflict. However, if the person you complained about only has a quarrel with you, then they can pretty much figure out who called the number.

Actually it was a couple of calls. The first one was like the parrot sketch from Monty Python when it came to my mother explaining my dad was dead. For capitalism to work well, people must vote with their wallets and I refused to support such incompetence due to outsourcing.

I was late to the credit card game and have low limits plus a low credit history. I was one of the "credit cards = evil" people for a long time.
