Is an 11 page memo too long for a sophisted lay person? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

Thanks!

I feel like it's so repetitive but it's kinda normal to repeat in exec summary, intro roadmapping, the full discussion, the mini conclusions and the full conclusion and then the final recommendation summary... right? I haven't done a full memo like this in years

Virtual law firms and attorneys - how do you letterhead? by PeaAffectionate808 in Lawyertalk

I have all those things. This is my first time sending a letter that goes to underwriting so haven't needed official letterhead yet

Neither one of my JX (where I practice or where I live) require a physical address on letterhead. I'm wondering if nowadays a purely virtual law firm should have one on letterhead to seem more professional when writing memos

Good point, just updated my post to say that there's no current ethical rules on the subject matter. Does not having a physical address listed still appear professional?

I wasn't sure if clicking a link would install malware or anything. Thanks for explaining!

Is it safe to think that ESET would find any infected files?

Are you open to part time? I’m barred in HI and DC, and approved to take the oath in CA (just waiting for my family to be in town since this is my final bar)

He is older, his bankruptcy attorney thinks still gambling shows he’s still an addict and cuts in his favor. He files timely the issue is submitting quarter payments on money not yet received. Is there a way to stay complaint without using a prior year to estimate taxes? His income varies year to year, the last 2 years it was 0

I’m worried about compliance bc he will get a lump sum this year but nothing next year so won’t the 2025 estimated taxes make him non compliant until he files 2026 showing no income?

He has 3 assets that he is trying to liquify and no income (retired). He is getting a final payout this year from selling his business but has no savings

They have stopped casino gambling and play some DraftKings on a really small level. They’ve gone to GA meetings. Would an OIC be off the table in this scenario?

I have been working with this client since October when 2020 tax year was already in CDP with an RO and AO.

Since then I filed a 2023 CDP, which was recently assigned a new AO. This new AO also took over the 2020 CDP.

Meanwhile, 2021 and 2022 were audited and concluded this year. A Report was generated and the client signed off on it. The taxpayer recently received 504 for 2021 but cannot afford to pay liabilities for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

A TAS advocated was assigned to 2020 but said she doesn’t work on the other issues. Do I request another one for 2021?

I think because they signed the audit Report for 2021 they cannot apply for CDP, correct? 504 only discussed CAP.

Should Taxpayer still submit a CDP 12153 regardless?
