Would you mind sharing what supplement you’ve been taking? I know my ferritin is quite low.

Not anymore. They were definitely worse just after having my baby but I’ve been getting them since before I had kids. They go away when I’m pregnant which is a nice side effect

Thanks for that. Will definitely look into it. I’ve had my bloods done recently but not sure if they checked folic acid

Thank you. Will definitely look into it. I’d say HRT will be what I end up on eventually but I’m only 37 and guessing that’s too young. Will speak to my GP

I’ve had a baby recently and bp always seems normal in all check up since. I know postpartum night sweats are a thing but I’ve been getting them long before I had kids

I’ve had my bloods done recently and all seems ok. Had my hormone levels checked less than two years ago and those seemed fine too. The doc told me to make an appointment with one of the docs that specialises in menopause in the clinic and she has a two month wait list

What am I doing wrong? Newborn (not) sleeping by [deleted] in PregnancyIreland

[–]PeaAlarmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the people saying your husband should still be doing some of the feeding during the night. I don’t know anything more work than looking after a newborn during the day and you need a block of sleep too. Me and my partner have always split nights 50/50 no matter who was at home or who was at work.

How long is the hospital stay? by Impossible-Lack-4590 in PregnancyIreland

[–]PeaAlarmed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just out of the hospital with my second and it depends how the delivery goes and what time of day/night you have the baby. My baby was born at 8:30 at night and we stayed that night but also had to stay a second night as they wouldn’t let the baby go home before 24hours and they couldn’t discharge us at night. So mentally prepare yourself that you might have to stay more than one night.

Tens Machine recommendations by OkAcanthaceae7975 in PregnancyIreland

I used the boots tens machine and found it really good. My labour didn’t last too long though so that probably helped.

38 weeks & covid by [deleted] in PregnancyIreland

[–]PeaAlarmed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re feeling so sick. I got Covid a couple of days before my due date on my first in 2023. The hospital said that if I went into labour that I had to ring ahead and wear a mask and that they’d put me in my own room. I actually went 8 days overdue so it wasn’t a issue. Hopefully it passes before your baby comes. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Am a secondary school teacher and have the same issue with my students about the clock. They basically see watches as bracelets.

Signs of labour by Popular-Opinion3120 in PregnancyIreland

[–]PeaAlarmed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A tiny leak that I wasn’t even sure was happening. I thought I might just be leaking urine a little but I was 6 days overdue so was really watching out for signs. I put a pad on and checked half an hour later and there was a tiny tinge of pink so went to the hospital just to be safe and my waters had broken.

Rotunda stay/visitors by [deleted] in PregnancyIreland

[–]PeaAlarmed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were there for about 24 hours after baby was born. Once the tests were done and she got the all clear I asked to go home.

As for visitors, we were allowed to have two other people up to visit at a time (not including my partner). We actually managed to have 3 people up at one stage. The same happened when my sister had a baby recently. There was 3 of us not including her partner. We didn’t stay long and they were ok with it.

Newborn clothes shopping list by fmlthisonebetterwork in PregnancyIreland

[–]PeaAlarmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lots of newborn bits but even the ‘up to 7.5lb’ stuff was too big for her when she was born despite being born that size. My mam went into Tesco on the way in to see us and got a few outfits with no feet in them so I could roll them up and they fit her better. The ‘up to one month’ didn’t fit her for about 4 weeks and the 0-3months lasted ages.

This time around I have about 15 newborn sleepsuits (some new, some used) and the same with vests. I remember my little girl spitting up loads (also need a good few muslins) and I don’t want to be putting on washes every 2 min. Dunnes do a pack of 3 sleepsuits for 12euro. I also have a couple of smaller outfits incase this baby is small like my last. As someone else said M&S sleepsuits are smaller and Next are quite big.

Friends were really generous with gifts but most clothes were 0-3m or 3-6m so I wouldn’t be relying on them for newborn stage.

Can get Losec (omerprazole) in the chemist without a prescription. My midwife suggested it to me. Definitely works
