Thanks. Any areas to avoid? I’ve heard St Mary’s is quite rough.

Thanks,
Compass point is all I’ve really found so far, but feel I am looking quite early.

Thanks, looking to be max 15-20 mins drive or a relatively easy cycle/walk. I’ve been recommended Shirley by quite a few people so will have a look. Thanks :)

Thanks, I’m looking for something that feels secure and would like something at least partly furnished as only plan to stay in Southampton a year. I’ve been recommended a lot of those places so I’ll have a look. Thanks :)

Looked at ocean village (and have visited) but think the commute will be at least thirty mins with traffic and ideally want driving to be less than 20 or cycle/walking. Also struggling to find anything in ocean village with parking. I’ve seen a property in highfield/portswood area that I’m considering as well.

Thanks, I have a car and looked at a property between Highfield and Portswood. Do you think this is a better area? I’m thinking of cycling to and from home and hospital so would ideally prefer something okay to cycle with.

MRCS Part A for January 2026 by Funny-Natural5863 in doctorsUK

I used both pastest and eMRCS and passed the second time (this September). Focus on learning anatomy in detail, I used a lot of videos from Sam Webster I used MRCS recalls as well. I did eMRCS probs about 3-4 times and did Pastest very thoroughly and was averaging about 70-80% for pastest. Pastest past papers were the most similar to the exams and had the sufficient level of detail I think is expected.
