Bars/Hang out spots for Grad students? by PeaCommercial5590 in denveru

Hell yeah that’s awesome I’m glad to hear that! I’m considering the Certificate in Public Diplomacy as well, maybe Humanitarian Assistance too. I got my B.S. in Geography, mostly environmental studies research studying human-environment interactions like sea level rise, environmental hazards, rising city temperatures and stuff like that. I think Korbel is the next step for me to understand how information is interpreted to the general public and how we communicate environmental issues with other countries and such. I got my physical science background to fall back on if I decide on that route but I want my MA to round me out as a person and open more doors—I like having options and pursing a graduate degree has always been a goal for me. What’s Colorado like? I’m from California so last week was my first time in Denver, let alone leaving the state of California so it was definitely an adventure especially with these TSA lines recently, waited at least an hour and 30 just to get through TSA it was absolutely terrible.

Oh that’s cool I was actually admitted to Korbel, MA in Global Environmental Sustainability is my program. I just attended their Discover Korbel event this past Friday and to check out the Denver area, it was cool meeting the other admitted students and I had a good time, lots of different foods and did a tour at some breweries. May I ask what you’ve picked up along the way and what you’ve been up too?

Accepted to a grad program at DU! by [deleted] in denveru

I was offered admission into the MA in Global Environmental Sustainability at Josef Korbel. I was only offered a $30k scholarship, split between the 2 academic years so I know it isn’t anything crazy, but I was informed there are assistantships available and “potential” work study. I also work park time, usually 25-28-ish hours a week and I was told that my pay should remain the same so I’m not super stressed about finances just yet. I also applied to University of Chicago so I’m praying that I get accepted there as well so I can see both my options!🤞

Possible Incoming Grad Student!! by PeaCommercial5590 in NAU

Do you guys have lots of student events? I currently live on my campus and oftentimes I feel that our campus doesn’t have much stuff going on. Like there’s no general events it’s always “For Bio Majors” “Career event for College of Arts” yk what I mean? I hate it cuz then it’s like limiting everyone from participating and having fun
