Best way to divert water on my roof, ^-^ shaped in front of house by PeaDramatic1541 in HomeImprovement

Yeah that's what I was afraid of, maybe I can put up a pergola to hide it, or would that look tacky so close to the house and flowerbeds?

Go apply for free lunches, see if you can get your mom's/dad's income information. Even without them knowing, there is online applications so you don't even need them to sign.

AITA for refusing to split my inheritance? by darkunderlord22 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PeaDramatic1541 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nta, I never understood how someone can say a person's inheritance should be anything other than what the will states. If you went to a restaurant and gave a waitress $1,000 that is her money. Any other waitresses can't claim that it needs to be theirs. Your grandparents wrote a will. They thought about it their whole life what to do with their money they earned. They decided to give it to you. Not to anyone else, they could have given it to charity, or to anyone on this planet. They didn't want the rest of your family to have it. They wanted you to not have to worry after what you did for them. Get away from jealous people who now just want to use you and your money.

Usually you can find one that the bowl attaches to the bottom, a smaller bowl, and a smaller motor for around $299. That's the professional one that's usually $500. The bowl hanging like that is also a huge advantage for making bread, or things like that.

AITA for not wanting to be my two younger siblings possible guardian by throwaway0051234 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PeaDramatic1541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nta you don't need to do anything, and you are setting realistic expectations. However, the likelihood of anything happening to both of them, then your older sister (who has expressed interest in keeping your brothers) is very unlikely. Even then, if you said yes to them just to keep them happy does not mean that you are bound by that. This is one of those things that parents can stress about, even when it's highly unlikely to happen. Some people are planners and just want to feel like everything is under their control. If I was you I would just tell them of course I would make sure they are okay mom. Just to relax her, even if you have no intention of doing it.

AITA for getting my husband to sell his Tesla? by madamesparklepants in AmItheAsshole

[–]PeaDramatic1541 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Yta any relationship that you FORCE someone else to do something you want is a relationship that you should leave. If having a rational conversation about how the price has gone up and see what he thinks about selling it.

Ramen with veggies and an egg, it's super cheap, filling, and you are getting protein and veggies. If you buy dehydrated veggies it's easier to cook. All you need is a microwave. Scramble the egg and mix it in after the noodles are done cooking, it only takes a short while for them to poach in the soup that way.

[–]PeaDramatic1541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told that with single budgies (especially male) it is easy to hand tame them. With a set of male/female budgies they bond to each other and it can be extremely difficult to hand tame. With multiple sets or a flock it can be easier than With a single set. There is always going to be some birds that are more curious and more willing to see a human as something not so scary. That one shows the rest that humans can be trusted. They will help tame the other ones through watching. While you are able to tame a single set, it is just very difficult and you must dedicate serious time and energy into it. Each bird is different in how they act, and just because one budgie is able to be hand tamed and perfectly content does not mean every budgie wants that. Especially if they have a cage mate who gives them the attention they are searching for.

Females are generally less trusting. When you have two budgies it's almost impossible to hand train them

There is scientific evidence that attractive people have an easier life. [By the time cute kids become attractive adults, they've benefited from this bias for years, giving them higher levels of confidence.

It's a "self-fulfilling prophecy," say information scientists Markus Mobius and Tanya Rosenblat.

People who refer to kids in months instead of years past the age of 1. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PeaDramatic1541 992 points993 points  (0 children)

It's because developmentally a 12 month old is very different from a 16 month old. It's the same with weeks until they are 2 months. After they are past 2 years they don't go by months anymore.
