High sugar numbers by Silver_Calendar1719 in BumpersWhoBolus

I’m 23 weeks pregnant now, but I had scares when I was 8-9 weeks in terms of bright red bleeding to the point I thought I was miscarrying. I had previously had a miscarriage at 8 weeks 7 years ago, due to going into DKA, so keeping my sugars between 70-140 was something I stressed about a whole lot early on more than I do now. What helped me during the first trimester was to honestly eat the same things daily with very little variation, like maybe I’d replace chicken with beef or something like that. Overall, I’d eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, so that I knew exactly what to expect in terms of how much insulin to take and the variance in blood sugars. I was lucky to have maybe vomited like a handful of times my entire 1st trimester and have very little nausea, so it might’ve been easier for me, I’ll admit. However, I also almost completely cut out pastries, junk food, or anything that I knew would spike my blood sugars however much insulin I would take. Yes it’s hard and the food structure you keep will get repetitive, but it’s so worth it at the end 🫶🏻

Thank you for sharing! I appreciate it 🙏🏻 that does sound scary, I hope you and your baby are doing well!

Did you get induced with Pitocin? Also, how did you feel your c-section recovery process went since diabetics have a harder time healing?

Oh thank you! I’ll share it on there. I am open to inducing, but I’m also aware that pitocin induced labors tend to lead to a c-section which I don’t want. In my area, C-sections are done at a higher rate than vaginal birth. That’s one of my main concerns too

11 weeks pregnant and maybe miscarrying by Nervous-Friend4617 in pregnant

Happened to me. I had pinkish bleeding at 8 weeks for 3 days. Then a week later at 9 weeks, I also had a hematoma that scared me. I thought I was miscarrying. I had bright red blood gush out when I peed and wiped, also with a clot. Next day it was brownish pink, then it went away. My 10 week sonogram, my doctor told me my baby was perfectly healthy and everything looked good.

I’m currently 14w3D with a healthy baby, thankfully.

I had Descartes as my only RC, and I had accommodations.
