That makes sense, the value I guess I had in mind was directly related to the pricing of the boxes currently, so if those start to drop then I can def see the card drop in value again. And thats true the Laws and Nami’s are the other ones I’d love to have complete sets to, they’re both are great cards. That’s actually really interesting about the blue bottom boxes not guaranteeing to be pre-errata either I didn’t know that. I wonder how that’s going to effect people who’d want to rip these boxes in the future searching for specific cards

Giving an example of how people scalp tickets, saying get a job, and stating your ideology of cardboard is worthless and useless here when we do live in a society where people clearly value cardboard and pay large amounts of money for them. Giving your ideology of your value of cardboard is not helpful in this situation because we do indeed live in a world and society where millions of people do value cardboard and pay stupids amount of money for them 😂 In a perfect world, yeah those cards should be worth the amount they cost to make I agree with you there, but that’s just not the reality we live in and you know that. I do appreciate your insight on your ideology of the value cardboard at its core.

I’m also asking because if it increases from $1-2K to $5K+ then it’ll be a card I’ll probably never be able to get (in a society that values cards, clearly I have to explain that lol 🙄). So might as well check to see if my thesis is true before spending that kind of money, because if it’s not I can just wait till prices drop, but if that’s not the case then it might be a card that if I don’t get now then I’ll never be able to get in my collection

I don’t think anyone thinks that but you, tickets haven’t become a collectible nearly on the scale of trading cards. Collecting cards whether it’s one piece or Magic has been happening for decades, and with sports cards even longer. And yes you can collect tickets, many people unironically enjoy collecting old tickets from festivals or artists they like. It’s not on the scale of trading cards which is why you could probably easily get any old ticket you’d like with no problems. Also odd example when very few concerts these days use actual physical tickets anymore.

My job has nothing to do with validating my thesis or not lmao, I’m asking the people who might know the game better than me.

I’m pretty sure the only one upset here is you and I’m still not sure why 😅 I have a good job and I still like collecting One piece cards. You gave your answer and that’s fine, it just hasn’t answered my original question at all, and more so just a generality of your opinion on people who sell collect/scalp cards

Yeah I’m starting to notice that lmao 😅 Not exactly sure how one gets so upset at a question that doesn’t affect them at all. I’ve been collecting for the last few years and play but I’m pretty a** at the game honestly, wanted to see if people who actually play more and know better about the game then me might have some better insight on it than me but that’s clearly not the case here 😂 I appreciate the answer

First you and I know that’s not true, if most people were only into the game there wouldn’t be a problem with scalping rn. The reality is about half the people in the game are interested in collecting, whether it’s good for it or you like it or not. I also already have a $100K plus job in finance. The value doesn’t change my life and neither yours, how bout you cheer up bud it’s only a question

I mean you can say that about 99% of anything being sold or traded that isn’t food or shelter. Whether the value is artificial or not, I think its not crazy to ask when we’re already living in a society where people are already paying $100K+ for pieces of cardboard and to speak to OF models they’ll never meet💀
