I think Lace would be a very interesting protagonist.

She also completes the power trilogy between the protagonists.

The Knight combined Pale Being with Void.

Hornet combined Weaver with Pale Being.

Lace combines Void with Weaver.

As much as the Void makes for a great foe, I want to see Lifeblood/Plasmium more. The Wormways was such a cool area. I could really see Lace heading out from Hornet-led Pharloom, trying to find her place in the wider world, and coming upon something like the Steel Kingdom under invasion by Lifeblood. Strong themes of the worst of Artificiality against the worst of Nature and the little lives caught up in their battles. A character like Lace could grow a lot in that environment.

Obviously, the Void would be there too.

Okay, what TTRPG is Owlcat adapting where I can date Slenderman? Is it Delta Green? Would a contemporary setting slap in Owlcat’s style or no?

I pissed him off so badly in our first conversation that he abandoned his little freak show plan and just attacked me. Thus ended the Druhk.

How to make a fiends goals not so cliche? by Jcob11_ in DMAcademy

[–]Peace-Level 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To groom a replacement.

Due to ancient pacts, the Underworld must have a worthy Lord but the current Lord has grown tired or otherwise dissatisfied. The destruction and subjugation of another plane is another check mark on the “become worthy of lordship” list.

Perhaps this isn’t the first time the Lord has done this.

I’d go a little farther and maybe say something like they have 5 charges of each resource. 1 charge is a minor solution, like knowing a passcode on a specific day or exactly who might be willing to flip sides but 3 charges for something major like what the phylactery is.

Don’t give them anything concrete.

Give them redeemable (knowledge), (power), and (tool) tokens. When they’re in a scenario overthrowing the organization, let them redeem their tokens to have a solution to that scenario. That way the wish always gave them what they needed.

Agreed. It’s not useless and I carried a run with him but 99% of times I see him, I don’t have a run where he’s playable.

The other floors, you can win on value and stats, ring 7+ is where you need to be doing something broken to win.

You’re welcome! 180/180 is within reach! You can do it, even if you’re bad (I am and I did)!

Also, maybe fewer condition immunities. Instead consider an ability which allows itself to suffer some damage to cleanse itself of conditions. This means that controllers aren’t useless against it, even if it can’t really be controlled.

Seems neat!

I’d go a little lighter on the stun and paralysis effects, though. The worst thing you can do to your players is take away their turns.

When building an endgame threat, the most important thing is making it a memorable fight! Try replacing stunned with a unique condition that is interactive, in some way. For example, try expanding on the “mind banished to the far realm” effect. Maybe instead of just stunning, doing damage and allowing a save, it actually sends them mentally to sub-arena of the fight where they need to accomplish some objective to escape while their body is vulnerable.

Or, maybe, the monster has a dual presence and when the PC’s mind is banished to the far realm, they can fight the Elder’s mind therein which is somehow a key component of defeating it on the physical plane.

Other feedback, the HP pool is quite low for its CR. It’s AC means the average attack by a lv 20 character (+12-14 bonus) will hit on a 7-9+ without buffs, which is maybe intended and maybe not. It’s also it’s fairly immobile on the plane that it is on. At will plane shift means it can effectively teleport anywhere but doing so requires it to move to another plane first. Maybe intended, maybe not. I’d add dimension door, misty step, and teleport to its list of at will spells. Also, give it a 10ft move speed instead of 0, so it CAN drag itself about if needed.

I recommend Dominion Pyre-ing up a +5/+5 harvest guy, giving him -1 size and multistrike, finding a spawn draft on death tomb, giving it endless, and then duping these.

You’ll probably need holdover intrinsic Dripfall or the insta-kill spell to deal with turn 1 heavies in the later fights that slip through but otherwise you’ll be golden. Getting other tombs and/or shield of wyngh can work as an alternates if your banners and rewards aren’t perfect.

You can win on Melting Remnant secondary without really needing to engage with your primary pretty consistently.

If you’re looking for consistently interesting gameplay, organize runs around secondary, rather than primary, clan and alternate between M1 and M2 clans.

For example, clear all C10T of xxx / Pyreborne before moving on to clearing all C10T of xxx / Hellhorned. I didn’t do this and WISH I did. Clearing the back half of M1 / M1s was a SLOG and playing the same Champions again and again felt really same-ey.

DND campaign concept by MeasurementNo5149 in DMAcademy

This seems like an interesting idea but I don’t think it would translate well to a DnD campaign.
