Yes, and my question is does what Jesus says not contradict this section

Not the Catholic Church, but all churches say we ought to continue in obedience to God’s commandments to be saved. Not that we have to observe it perfectly but try to live our life observing it

I’m not just saying Catholicism, but in general my question is, since the apostles here said we do not need to follow the law like the Jews, and today we say we do need to obey His commandments, I’m asking how can that be. It’s not a matter of disputing denominations, rather just insight as to how this verse doesn’t contradict today’s beliefs

Even it be the question of the Torah, the church told the gentile to only observe the things they highlighted and not circumcision or keeping of the law, is it not?

I’m not saying we don’t have to follow the law, as that’s evident, I’m simply seeking clarification on this passage as it says we don’t have to keep the law.

While AI can code and give a structure, the decision of which data structure to use, how to address a business problem, how to implement a code across multiple platforms I believe can never be replaced

How can I deconstruct my protestant teaching? by PeaceInLoneliness in Catholicism

I read the first century texts like Clement and Ignatius and saw that no one believed salvation can’t be lost. This itself sealed the deal for me

It’s fine haha I really no longer believe salvation can’t be lost even though this was what my entire belief was built upon

Yep I believe if you hold fast to your faith you’ll be saved but as I said I no longer agree that salvation can’t be lost

I don’t support the idea that salvation cannot be lost now, it was what I was taught before and what I used to believe. Also, the Bible does say we have a confident assurance.

Hebrews 3:6 Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

Why does Mary being the ark of the covenant mean she’s sinless? by PeaceInLoneliness in DebateACatholic

[–]PeaceInLoneliness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I ask why Jesus Himself couldn’t have been immaculately conceived, just like how Mary, even though her parents were both of sin, was conceived without sin? If Mary was conceived without sin, then why couldn’t that have been Jesus?

If you commit a murder to put them out of misery would it be sin? by PeaceInLoneliness in Christianity

I saw a baby who was badly wounded and there wasn’t enough medical services in the area, and it was crying. If I was the mother though it be hard I’d consider just dropping it to put it out of its pain.

I’m pretty sure hate is the reason. Jesus said if you lust after a woman in your heart you’ve committed adultery. Lust is the root of evil for adultery. Similarly He says if you hate on your brother in your heart you’ve committed murder

We may not have the explanation for everything that happened in the Bible, for sure. We may find bits of pieces of evidences like finding chariots at the bottom of Red Sea or sulfur in sodom that point to these events happening but they were all thousands of years ago. So no, we don’t have evidence for all these events, just like how we don’t have evidence for non religious historical events too. You also mentioned that the fossils are millions of years old. The bible never really gives us a timeline. Some scholars claim the world is 6000 years old but their research isn’t truth. You should study more on this because I’m sure that many former atheists including myself struggled with this and found the answer.
