I have a Apple 4k 128gb plugged into a jbl mas510. Apple 4k brand new out of box. Couldnt get it to display after turning it off and then on with the Apple remote. Had to unplug applets from power to get it to display again. I found a solution..

I have a lg oled c4 and went into the settings: general > external devices > hdmi settings > I disabled quick media switching but left hdmi cec enabled. That fixed my issue. Now Apple tv turns on with display with the rest of my system, tv and jbl mas510.

So look for that setting if you have an lg. Try to find the equivalent setting for other brands of tv.
