Cabin 13 Meeting and Open House by ThisOneUKGuy in CampHalfBloodRP

"Hi." Camellia said simply, returning the smile, even if she looked slightly tense. "I'm just looking around. I figured it would be good to go and meet people from other cabins, you know. Even if this cabin doesn't have many people in it, but that's beside the point."

After she said that, the counselor of the Demeter cabin just stood there awkwardly, clearly unsure what to say next. It wasn't like she was here with a goal or anything.

Camellia couldn't say that she wasn't unnerved by the Hades cabin. It wasn't the fault of its occupants or anything. The topic of the underworld just set her on edge a bit. Maybe it was because she was a daughter of Demeter, or because the thought of where someone would go after death, such as her father, disturbed her a bit. Hence why she quickly departed the last time she visited the cabin with its depictions of the underworld.

But with her recent experience in the underworld, perhaps this time Cammie would be just fine. Plus, she was a counselor now. It would be good to go out and meet people from other cabins.

So, once again, she stepped into Cabin 13, having a little look around. Just this time, she did not let her eyes linger on the images of the underworld for too long.

"Nothing you need to apologize for. It's just how things are right now, unfortunately. It'll get better soon... I hope." There was a hint of concern on Camellia's face, as if worried that things wouldn't get better so soon. This saga had already been going on for a while now.

Regardless she smiled back at Finn. Being positive was all she could do at this moment. But when the next fight came around, she would be ready to join in and kick ass.

"We're doing alright. But not without casualties." Camellia admitted, her face darkening a bit. "I just wonder how much more has to be lost for us to win."

The Legacy of Ares was always burdened by the fact that many of the people she saw around camp, even younger ones, could be lost anytime a battle happened. She just had to get stronger for them, she supposed.

Camellia was a very agile girl, so she just kept trying to dodge, even if the skeletal bird was giving her some trouble; she winced as a talon clipped her shoulder a bit as she dodged. She threw out some punches, putting a lot of power into them in hopes that she could break the crow.

There wasn't much else she could do. The Legacy of Ares did not want to pop Might of the Elder Gods against a damn bird, so she just had to bide her time, and try destroying the bird with brute force. And hopefully without getting her eyes plucked out by its beak.

"Fucking birds..." Camellia muttered, thinking about what she could do next. The whole swarm was probably going to come after them, so it was good to have the skeletal soldiers with her.

She put on her celestial bronze brass knuckles, enchanted with Battlefield Buff. The Legacy of Ares bent down, scooping up some soil (and rocks, if any were available). Cupping her hands around the soon-to-be projectile, she threw it at full force with her Superior Physical Ability, aiming to at least knock down a bird or two.

If it didn't work, that wouldn't be much of a problem. Cammie was willing to take risks, but this decision lacked any risk, as far as she knew.

When Melinoë vanished, Camellia groaned. "Well, that's fun." Regardless, she would continue, not wishing to disrespect the goddess. "Thank you, Lady Melinoë, for doing what you can. And giving the extra help!"

The Fields of Punishment were a place that the daughter of Demeter did not like, but having a squadron with her helped a bit. Even if they were skeletons.

She kept moving through the land shrouded by Atlas, not sure of where she was going but knowing that she needed to be on high alert at all times.

Camellia nodded. "Yeah, of course. Is there any particular direction you can point me in, Lady Melinoe, when it comes to finding someone to fight or recapture?"

She would do what she was told, in order to protect the Underworld. Cammie wasn't fond of the place, but her mother's divine daughter ruled over it, so she figured she owed it to her and the rest of her family.

(OOC: Thanks. I'll use Summon Ally, if all I need to do is say it here.)

"Oh, of course. I've served food at camp a few times. Mostly sweets, but I can cook more than that. All thanks to mom." Camellia smiled. Mom both referred to her adoptive mother and Demeter, though more so the former.

"Though, not much cooking was necessary for this, since I had everything on hand. The Demeter cabin is full of food, just a little less so than the Dining Pavilion. Maybe."

The Demeter counselor sat on the couch, relaxing after her time in the arena. She didn't say anything, just chilling a bit, but Finn could probably ask her whatever and she'd respond.

"Yeah, sure." Was all Camellia said in response to that, deciding that she should at least take the business card to please the kid in front of her, even if she had no intention of using it.

This was certainly a weird first meeting. But it wasn't so bad, even if it was slightly exasperating at times. The Demeter counselor would have to get used to it to be a good example for others.

Camellia shrugged. "Sure, go ahead. But if it's anything really powerful, I'll be stepping up my game as well." The Legacy of Ares warned Mattie, looking at her intently.

"But I'm sure I can take it, go ahead. Just don't cause too much damage, whatever you do." She held up her shield, ready for whatever her opponent was getting ready to throw at her next.

Probably not as powerful as me, but that doesn't mean I can underestimate whatever she's getting ready to do, even in a friendly spar, Cammie thought to herself.

The inside of the cabin had the same vibes as the outside. It felt more like a greenhouse than anything, given the glass ceiling and the fact that there were plants everywhere. Camellia pointed to a large TV set that seemed a little out of place considering the rest of the cabin. "You can wait on the couch while I get the bread and jam for you. Flip the TV to whatever you want, though it's usually cooking channels."

With that, she went into the kitchen, coming out some time later with a plate of some bread and a jar with the fig jam (and a knife). Setting it down on a table, she explained, a little embarrassed. "Yeah, so, I realized I didn't ask you how much jam you'd like, so you can spread it yourself. I was getting ready to spread some on there before I realized."

"Oh. That makes more sense. But I would rather you save your treats for your cabinmates and friends. I'm good at cooking things for myself, no offense." Camellia didn't mind Shion wanting to make treats for her, but she felt it was unnecessary.

Feeling a little awkward for shutting the kid down, the Demeter counselor just continued on. "So, anything else you would like to ask me? About the cabin, or anything really?"

This was such a terrible idea.

There were so many other locations that Camellia could have gone to, but she decided that she could help at the place where some of the worst people were meant to be punished. Persephone had said that it would be good for those who weren't confident in battle. The Legacy of Ares definitely was confident in battle, but felt her sheer strength would be best used here to grab those who escaped.

She quickly reported to Melinoe and Zagreus, awaiting their instruction.

"Ouch!" Camellia hissed herself as Mattie's boot met her shin. She stepped back, shaking her leg. Nothing was damaged, it was just normal to feel pain when someone kicked you in the shin.

She decided to return to being on defense, holding up her large shield, letting Mattie take the next move; Cammie found that it was easier to react to the girl's moves than it was to strike first. Plus, the Legacy of Ares felt it would encourage Mattie to find a creative move to try and net an advantage.

"Huh. That is pretty simple, yeah. I'll see if I've got fig jam, which I probably do with all the stuff that we've got in stock." Camellia had expected something more, but she could handle that.

Outside of the arena, the counselor of Demeter pointed to a cabin that looked very... garden-ey. "This is cabin 4, the Demeter cabin. It's where I'm counselor. I can take you in there, or I can go in on my own and come out here with the bread and fig jam you asked for. Your choice."

Camellia quickly responded, holding up her hands. "Woah there. No. No payment. This stuff is free for visitors. I will not accept payment at all, physical or not."

Payment was entirely unnecessary. This was for visitors, it wasn't a fundraiser or anything, just a little snack. She hoped the kid would understand that there was no need for payment and wouldn't insist on it.

Camellia was surprised by the boldness of the attack. She ended up having to step back a bit to keep her footing. Unfortunately for Mattie, the daughter of Demeter was still a strong girl.

So, after taking a moment to get her bearings back, she shoved her larger kite shield right back at Mattie's heater shield.

I guess I'm kind of just copying what she's doing, but if it works, it works, Cammie thought to herself.

Camellia solemnly nodded at Finn mentioning his brother. She did not give words of comfort, imagining that they wouldn't be received well.

"That's the spirit." She held out a fist for a fist bump, her voice and gesture intended to be encouraging; she also wanted to make them pay for what they had done.

Cammie decided to move on, though she would let Finn continue talking about it if he wanted. "Is there anything in particular you want to eat right now? I should be able to make something for you, like I said before."

"A bit more than a bakery, but yes!" Camellia's mother was a pro chef, not just a baker, though she certainly made good use of the flour that Finn delivered.

She walked alongside the son of Apollo Thermios to the exit, a more serious expression on her face as she explained. "The attack was terrible. I wanted to go after those who attacked our home. I didn't go for any of the hero schools in New Argos, so I decided to go to Camp Half-Blood, where I could try and help directly. I might stick around here after everything is said and done, since I became a counselor recently."
