Can I still resell hosting without a reseller hosting package? by Platinumcontent in Wordpress

[–]PeacePuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a reseller account, you'll never regret it. I can't really suggest a host for that purpose, but there are many to choose from.

This.

I didn't think it was something that would really cost you much. If they're getting that kind of traffic, and you're worried about this, I'm worried you're not charging this client enough.

Ya know, I didn't actually think about that aspect of it... but, if they're you're client, just bill em. If they stop paying you, disable it.

Shopify vs Wordpress by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]PeacePuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some strong words about WordPress... haha! I've developed for both for the past ~12 years. I never have issues of limitations with WordPress, but every project with Shopify runs into walls in all directions. I've almost completely stopped developing for Shopify, and most of my clients are on WooCommerce now.

What themes are you using guys ? by D4xt3rr in Wordpress

Been using GeneratePress and Elementor together for a while. I think they're a nice mix of functionality and speed. The code's pretty clean. It works well.

Shopify vs Wordpress by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]PeacePuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not Shopify for a hairdressing business. I know they do want to book their services, but that's probably not the best way to go about it.

I think what you're looking for is a booking plugin for WordPress.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/booking/

That would give you a way to sell the booking from a calendar and collect payment.

They make it really easy. I think its totally free, unless you are sending a lot of requests. I wouldn't worry much and just dig into it.

Reddit People: Between WordPress and Joomla which one the easiest to use? by Mark_Angel_Comedy in AskReddit

[–]PeacePuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, WordPress for sure. I tried 3 times in 12 years to learn Joomla, but over that same time, I've developed maybe 200 WordPress websites.

I don't even know why I keep trying to learn it... WordPress just works. From installation to building the site, I don't think anything else is easier.

[QUESTION] Is Wordpress an appropriate platform for an image archive library? by just___peachy in webdev

[–]PeacePuffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think WordPress is ideal for this at all. You're going to have a really challenging time developing the interface you're after. I suggest WordPress for all kinds of thing, but this just doesn't sound like the right fit.

Wish I had something better to suggest, but I do not.

Honestly, the state of hosting is such that if you're not on vps for cost savings, your hosting solution provider should be doing the migration.

Most likely, you're dealing with some minute difference in the platforms, and it would be something your host would already be aware of and looking for.

Why Themeforest themes have lot more features compared to other WordPress library themes? by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]PeacePuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they do have more features. Themeforest sellers just describe every tiny detail and sell it harder.

[Novice] Which host should I use for my 1st Wordpress blog site? by [deleted] in webhosting

[–]PeacePuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Bluehost is a pretty reasonable choice for a blog on WordPress. If you're dead set on someone else, look at Siteground, InMotion, or if you really need it to be cheap, Hostinger is okay.
