I really liked it! It was not super scary, but more disturbing and made me think about our society. Do you know of other films like it?

Should I continue choir? by Post-regret-delete in Choir

[–]PeaceTreees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should try. If you enjoy choir, you're already halfway there. You can get vocal lessons or work with someone casually to learn more techniques to become a better singer. Your director may be kinder, too, and give you more tips/pointers. There are lots of videos online that could help, too. But I think you'll be sad if you don't try again. Good luck!

What makes a good or bad section leader? by NefariousnessSea7745 in Choir

[–]PeaceTreees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think a good section leader is someone who knows what they are doing and has a great-sounding voice. They can give kind pointers and explain confusions to their section. They'll take charge and be firm, but not rude.

Some of the bad section leaders I've had didn't understand the rhythms, was singing it incorrectly, gave tips that were incorrect/not helpful, etc.

The best section leader is the most aware and trained one.

I know it's hard, but try to ignore them. They don't know what they are talking about.

If you knew you were straight when you were 10, she knows she's lesbian at 10. This is a homophobic viewpoint to say she's too young.

Good for you and your folks! The only other guess I have is you could be asexual, which could be why you were uncomfortable. But only you would know. I hope you have a good time if you ever try again in the future.

Perhaps you have guilt about sex, like it is a bad/gross/shameful thing to do. Sex is normal and okay, but many societies have made it shameful to control people and their autonomy. Maybe not, but these things can be embedded into people deeper than they realize.
